PROGRAM SPRING BIBLE LECTURESHIP PEPPER'DINE COLLEGE MARCH 16-22, 1963 WELCOME, LECTURESHIP VISITORS The entire Pepperdine College community extends to you a hearty welcome to the 20th annual Pepperdine Spring Bible Lectureship. We believe this will be the greatest program of the Lectureship's tradition- honored history. We have anticipated your arrival and sincerely hope that you will enjoy your stay with us. Please call upon us for any assistance we can render. PLEASE REGISTER We urge you to visit the registration tables located in the lobby of the College auditorium. The Associated Women for Pepperdine are serving as official registrars this year and are anxious to meet and greet you. Pick up a lapel identification card and leave us your name and address. We need a record of your visit and you will want to receive information regarding future Pepperdine lecture series. A PROGRAM FOR YOU From the Saturday evening Kick-Off Dinner to the Sports Arena Climax, our program has been planned with you in mind. Budget your hours wisely; attend every class, lecture, and panel which your sched- ule will allow. Take notes, ask questions; make suggestions. Let's take advantage of every ounce of spiritual energy which this week provides. Our theme, "Christ, Our Contemporary," is especially vital and timely. It is designed to present the Lord as an ever-present source of power in the lives of Christian people. The following little poem by W. C. Braithwaite catches a portion of the spirit which we anticipate for this historic week. William S. Banowsky, Lectureship Director WELCOME FROM TRUSTEES The Board of Trustees of Pepperdine College extends its warmest welcome to all of our visitors who have come to participate in the 20th annual Bible Lectureship. Deep and abiding faith in God has been the corner stone of all successful societies and is the bulwark of our spir- itual experience. The Board is basically interested in the expansion of this Bible-centered faith and in programs which help to achieve this purpose. These annual lectureships, which bring together thousands of inter- ested and dedicated followers of our Lord, have an impact upon our fellow Christians and upon our total society. You are always welcome on the campus of Pepperdine. Donald V. Miller, Chairman, Sierra Madre H. E. Acklin, Dallas, Texas Mrs. George Pepperdine, Los Angeles W. Yearwood, Nashville, Tenn. Lester Lawhorn, Temple, Texas "CHRIST OUR CONTEMPORARY"* Christ's Spirit taketh breath again Within the lives of holy men. Each changing age beholds afresh Its word of God in human flesh. Amid the meek of earth, whose ear Pure wisdom maketh quick to hear, Who know the founts of good and ill, and live in the eternal will. Sharing themselves and all their good In universal brotherhood; In whose sweet lives we still may see The One who walked in Galilee, And preaching through the human page Christ's living gospel to our age. By W. C. Braithwaite, 1862-1922, Masterpieces of Religious Verse, edited by James Dalton Morrison. LECTURESHIP LEADERS Howard A. White William S.
