COMMUNITY HUB EXHIBITION March 2018 Introduction Mindenhurst is a new neighbourhood in the village of Deepcut, Surrey. Situated on the site of the Princess Royal Barracks, Mindenhurst will offer 1,119 new homes and 81 homes as part of the conversion of retained buildings. Essential local amenities including a new primary school, retail outlets, sports facilities, business premises and circa 69 hectares of public green space will be delivered for existing and new residents to enjoy. The vision for Mindenhurst is to oversee the transformation of the existing Princess Royal Barracks site into a high quality, sustainable rural heathland village. Areas that have historically been solely for military use will be re-connected with the existing Deepcut village, creating a thriving new neighbourhood. Mindenhurst will be characterised by its surrounding rural heathland. Open space will be the defining feature of this new neighbourhood, which offers a sustainable lifestyle in which residents can live, work and play. Community hub Today we are presenting recent proposals for the ‘community hub’ area of Mindenhurst. This phase of development will deliver significant new and improved community facilities including: • A new school - Mindenhurst primary school and nursery • A new village green and formal park • A village centre • A public house • New community hall and repairs to St Barbara’s Church • Improvement works to Deepcut Bridge Road • A potential new healthcare facility The proposals on display today have been developed in consultation with Surrey Heath Borough Council. We are now in position to share the plans with you and would welcome your views. We have feedback forms available and would encourage you to take a few moments to provide us with your thoughts before you leave. As you walk round the exhibition, if you have any questions, please speak to a member of the project team.
