Lamar Faulkner, Region 6 From the President n behalf of the Office of Alumni Affairs and the National Alumni Association executive committee, we are pleased Oto provide you with this 2016–2017 Honor Roll Booklet. As our student-athletes continue to pursue championships in their respective sports, our students, working with their professors, continue to make legendary strides in new discoveries and technologies of the future. The NAA is here to serve and support all of students who grace the Capstone, and these efforts are directly supported by your membership. Because of the efforts of 34,000 association members and donors, it was possible for the NAA to award approximately $4.8 million in scholarship assistance to more than 2,600 students this year. Your National Alumni Association manages a corpus endowment of over $43 million and added 23 new scholarships this past year. Each and every year your NAA consistently sets new records in the selection and awarding of scholarship monies. Twenty-five years ago, I too was a recipient of the generosity of NAA members and received an Alumni Leadership Scholarship. I remember the pride that I felt to be recognized for my achievement by total strangers, and I have been forever grateful. No contribution is too small or large, as each and every one impacts the lives of the students we serve. Imagine your donation going to a first-generation college student. The significance of your giving will be far- reaching on his or her life and the lives they may bring into this world. You will be the catalyst for change and, in turn, make our university, state, nation and world a better place to call “home.” The words “faithful, loyal, firm and true” are contained within our alma mater and are the embodiment of your commitment as alumni to our university. It is my honor to serve as your president of the National Alumni Association. I look forward to joining you at chapter meetings across the state and nation and working with you to give back to the University that has given each of us so very much. Roll Tide! Chad D.
