Samba de Gafieira: Um Estudo Comparativo entre duas Metodologias de Ensino. 2013. 55f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso – Centro de Artes. Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Pelotas. A razão deste estudo residiu na proposta de investigar o ensino de Samba de Gafieira, através de dois professores, sendo um da cidade de Pelotas/RS e outro de Rio Grande/RS. Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa do tipo descritiva. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados foram: observações das aulas do nível iniciante, questionário aos alunos com questões abertas sobre o processo de ensino-aprendizagem do Samba de Gafieira, além de uma entrevista com os professores. A análise e discussão de dados comparativa apontou que os dois professores investigados não associam “teoria” (conceito histórico) e “prática” em suas aulas, além de usarem uma nomenclatura de passos diferente ao que o Syllabus propõe. Destacamos que é de extrema importância o professor estudar sobre as ações da docência e do fazer pedagógico, ou seja, o processo de ação- reflexão do constitui-se professor (antes, durante e pós-aula), assim como trabalhar com fundamentos indispensáveis para Dança de Salão como Musicalidade e Condução. The reason this study resided in the proposal to investigate the teaching of Samba de Gafieira by two teachers, one of Pelotas / RS and other Rio Grande / RS. Characterized as a qualitative study of descriptive type. The instruments for data collection were: observations from the beginner level classes, students questionnaire with open questions about the process of teaching-learning Samba de Gafieira, above an interview with the teachers. The analysis and discussion of comparative data indicated that the two investigated teachers do not associate "theory" (historical concept) and "practice" in their classes, besides, using a classification of the different steps that the proposed Syllabus. We emphasize that it is extremely important to study the teacher about the actions of teaching and pedagogical practice, ie, the process of action-reflection is a teacher (before, during and after class), as well as working with indispensable foundations for Ballroom Dancing as Musicality and Driving. Introdução Iniciei a dançar no ano de 2005 o “estilo” chamado de Samba-Reggae também conhecido por “Axé Music”. No ano de 2008 após ter sido aprovado no Curso de Licenciatura em Dança da Universidade Federal de Pelotas surgiu o interesse em me aprofundar em Dança de Salão. No mesmo ano me matriculei como aluno em uma academia de dança na cidade Pelotas/RS. Esta escolha por Danças de Salão se deu a partir de uma necessidade de investigar sobre um dos gêneros de dançar a dois, visando, inclusive um campo de trabalho futuramente. Comecei a frequentar as aulas com um olhar crítico e de análise de cada movimento tanto da dama quanto do cavalheiro. Comecei a observar a ações e o planejamento do professor diante a turma. Hoje atuando como professor de Dança de Salão destaco adequada minha escolha, pois é onde me encontro, e onde oriento os alunos à vivência de sua subjetividade que por muitas vezes com emoções guardadas em decorrência das tarefas diárias acaba sendo “esquecida” pelos sujeitos. Esta busca de autoconhecimento do sujeito é que tenho como ponto crucial no que tange a relação Dança e seres humanos. Como sujeitos de seus movimentos e ações. A razão deste estudo reside na proposta de investigar o ensino de Samba de Gafieira, com dois professores diferentes, sendo um da cidade de Rio Grande e o outro situado em Pelotas. O critério seletivo para a escolha destes professores, é que o professor de Pelotas começou a dar aulas assim como eu comecei, frequentou um período de aulas em certa escola de dança e logo começou a ministrar aulas, baseado em suas experiências. E a escolha em Rio Grande, foi por conhecer a professora de dança responsável pelas

Também aparecem na televisão, nos clipes, novelas, filmes, desenhos e academias. Assim como as coreografias do Tik Tok, performances urbanas estão mais popularizadas e ganhando novos adeptos. 1 Portanto, são manifestações culturais da força e identidade de grupos sociais. Mas também reúnem força e aceitação. Assim, elas têm grande papel na sociedade, de caráter pessoal e coletivo. E essa grande expressão é registrada através dos movimentos. A dança urbana foi a primeira manifestação corporal do emocional humano. Assim como outras danças, as danças urbanas também seguem regras próprias. Mas a liberdade em execução dos passos é a essência deste estilo. Origem As origens das danças urbanas são diversas. Uma delas ocorreu nos Estados Unidos, no século 20. Era uma manifestação dos artistas de rua, que estavam desempregados.

    Types of Dance Styles International Standard Ballroom Dances Ballroom Dance: Ballroom dancing is one of the most entertaining and elite styles of dancing. In the earlier days, ballroom dancewas only for the privileged class of people, the socialites if you must. This style of dancing with a partner, originated in Germany, but is now a popular act followed in varied dance styles. Today, the popularity of ballroom dance is evident, given the innumerable shows and competitions worldwide that revere dance, in all its form. This dance includes many other styles sub-categorized under this. There are many dance techniques that have been developed especially in America. The International Standard recognizes around 10 styles that belong to the category of ballroom dancing, whereas the American style has few forms that are different from those included under the International Standard. Tango: It definitely does take two to tango and this dance also belongs to the American Style category. Like all ballroom dancers, the male has to lead the female partner. The choreography of this dance is what sets it apart from other styles, varying between the International Standard, and that which is American. Waltz: The waltz is danced to melodic, slow music and is an equally beautiful dance form. The waltz is a graceful form of dance, that requires fluidity and delicate movement. When danced by the International Standard norms, this dance is performed more closely towards each other as compared to the American Style. Foxtrot: Foxtrot, as a dance style, gives a dancer flexibility to combine slow and fast dance steps together.

With the arrival of millions of immigrants, the shape of the city and its society suffered an intense process of modernization. Tango, a product from the bordello considered a threat to national identity, came to be a global success in only twenty years. Acclaimed in Paris and New York, despite its origins, tango became a symbol for Argentina, in a process of negotiations and the control of sexuality and gender and class relations. In this sense, tango reveals itself to be a cultural product that condenses ‐beyond the richness of the music‐ many of the key debates regarding the relationships between culture and society. This course proposes, through the reading of tango lyrics, films and novels, a critical analysis of theoretical problems such as national identity, gender studies and the consumption of culture in a global era.     Samba ! Brief History Samba is a dance and musical genre originating in Brazil, with roots from Africa via the West African slave trade and African religious traditions, particularly Angola and the Congo. Introduced in 1917, the Samba wasn't adopted by Brazil as a ballroom dance until 1930. In Brazil, Samba is mostly danced solo, and remains especially popular during celebrations of the Brazilian Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. The festive mood of the dance is responsible for its continued popularity. Samba is considered to be one of the most popular Brazilian cultural expressions, being is an icon of Brazilian national identity. Samba National Day is celebrated on December 2 every year! Samba has a very specific rhythm, highlighted by characteristic Brazilian musical instruments. To achieve the true character of the Samba, a dancer must give it a happy, flirtatious and exuberant interpretation. Characteristics and Technique Tempo: 80-125 beats per minute Rhythm: 1a2, 3a4 Time signature: 2/4 Principal characteristics of the Samba are the rapid steps taken on a quarter of a beat and the pronounced rocking motion and sway of the dance. The basic footwork of the Samba includes fast, three-step weight changes with a slight knee lift, led with alternating feet. The basic rhythm is ‘quick, quick, slow’. The major action of Samba, the ‘Samba Bounce Action’ gives the dance its unique look and feel. It is a gentle, rhythmic action felt through the knees and ankles. This action should appear effortless and carefree and should never be exaggerated. The ‘Samba Bounce Action’ is quite difficult to master, but really adds to the overall character of the Samba.

Most classes/workshops can be designed for Dance Students, General Public/Community Events, Youth and Seniors In doing this work, Viver Brasil will use traditional forms which include orixá dance movement, samba de roda (circle samba), and maracatu (processional); as well as contemporary styles which include samba reggae/samba afro (carnival forms), and contemporary Afro-Brazilian dance.     Sarfati, Aaron MIT 21M030 – Ruckert December 7, 2006 The Samba Experience In examining and researching a foreign culture, there are two ways one may go about conducting the research: 1) reading and studying printed or recorded materials, or 2) living within the culture and experiencing it firsthand. But, sometimes the best research is a combination of the two, drawing from the theory of what should be and then comparing to what actually is practiced. The analysis of the similarities and the differences can sometimes be quite interesting. With this balanced method of research, I looked at Samba through a theoretical lens, analyzing its origins, studying the culture behind it, and examining its current history. Then, I attended a Samba concert in Cambridge, MA to see this style of music from the other lens – in practice. The goal of this experience was to understand firsthand what the music was, who the performers were, how the audience interacted, and what was the role of community in the practice and development of the music. The concert I attended with my wife was officially called “Halloween Halloween – Brazilian Music Festival: Samba Tremeterra” and featured the Samba Tremeterra group along with Ana Borges, the lead singer. The event was on Sunday, October 29, 2006 right before Halloween. It was held at the Middle East Downstairs club, which featured a large dance floor, a semi-large playing stage, two bars along the sides, and some scant seating. It was scheduled to start at 8:00 PM and go until around midnight. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was that the music had already started.

The questions of how the music first revealed itself to the informants and what preconceptions and prior experience they brought to it are addressed. The ethnography takes into account the cultural and linguistic context representedby a Welsh-speakingarea, and the practice in Wales is compared with observations made in Bahia, Brazil.
