Message from the President For the past several years, we have been describing the most recent Pepperdine Bible Lectures as the "best ever." Truly, the decade of the 1980s has seen the dramatic rise of "Reflect on what I am saying, for the this forum to a place of prominence and service, a worthy Lord will give you insight into all this. base from which to build in the 1990s. But God's Somehow, every annual Bible theme that is crafted by word is not chained." Jerry Rushford seems appropriate, as he weaves together a n Timothy 2:7-9 tapestry of encouragement, edification, and challenge. V for Pepperdine Dinner Tuesday, April 24,1990 4:15 p.m. in the Cafeteria Susan Giboney Brea, California

The Annual Opening Night Remember Jesus Christ Men's Dinner Tuesday, April 24,1990 Under the watchful eye of the Roman guard, the aged 4:15 p.m. at Alumni Park apostle, bent by years of labor and persecution, writes to his Lynn Anderson young protege. Time is short now, and Paul's life will soon be Abilene, Texas poured out as an offering to his Master. He admonishes Timothy to not yield to the spirit of the present age—an age not unlike our own. Then through the simple ink scratchings on a scroll, he places in Timothy's hands the key to transcendent life... "remember Jesus Christ," he writes. And he identifies for him the source of triumphant power: "The Lord will be at your side." This year we will assemble on the campus of Pepperdine University in Malibu to heed the summons of Paul—to enter APPRECIATION DINNER - FRIDAY NIGHT that still point in a spinning world and "Remember Jesus Pepperdine University Honors Christ." We believe you will be inspired and equipped to Carl and Smitty Brecheen renew your journey of faith as you worship, learn, and and fellowship together in these four special days. Paul and Gladys Faulkner Welcome to the 47th annual Bible Lectures. On behalf of Don Williams, Patty Atkisson, and more than 75 Pepperdine student workers, we dedicate this conference to praising and remembering Jesus Christ, who stands at our side and who will be with us as surely as He was with Paul, the prisoner of Christ.
