Page 12. Fontana, California … Rockhill Church uses contemporary music; and in typical emerging fashion, everything is dark. The room is dark for the worship service and it is dark for the preaching. It would be nearly impossible to actually look at your Bible and ‘search the Scriptures.’ Matt’s Instagram post for Feb. 18, 2017, featured a photo of his praise team singing Hillsong’s “Love So Great.”’ Page 4. JOHN RICE, LESTER ROLOFF, REPENTANCE, AND SLOPPY SOUL WINNING - By David Cloud n the 1980s, Jack Hyles and Curtis Hutson changed the ahistoric Baptist definition of repentance. I suspect that the motive was to justify the cheap, numbers-oriented soul winning methodology that was popular in that day. This was the methodology that was foundational to Big-ism with its emphasis on “the largest ... the fastest growing... the greatest.” I call the numbers-oriented soul winning methodology “Quick Prayerism,” because it is quick to run people through “the Romans Road,” quick to “get a decision,” quick to lead them in a sinner’s prayer, quick to give them “assurance,” and quick to pronounce them “saved” and record them as a statistic.

  • God Is Keeping the Score This Has Been a Wonderful Week Celebrating Missions and the Need for Church-Wide, Personal, and Evangel
God Is Keeping the Score Page 1 of 3 God Is Keeping the Score This has been a wonderful week celebrating missions and the need for church-wide, personal, and evangelistic revival. We have enjoyed having the Winters, John Himes, and the Keens with us for the emphasis on world evangelism and our part we play in the greater scheme of things. Dr. Charles Keen is interested in setting up a mission headquarters in the country of Mongolia with the ability to have the Scriptures printed in the language of the inhabitants. One of our fine deacons, Robert Painter is personal friends with the Prime Minister and perhaps future president of Mongolia. With this in mind we had lunch last Friday with Robert and discussed the possibilities of Charles Keen obtaining a foothold into the Gospel needy country of Mongolia. I enjoy finding out seeing where our men work and entering their world for a brief visit. I must say I marvel at the hard working men of our church and the joy they find in their work. Robert was so nice to take us on a tour of his workplace at Fulbright and Jarworski. I especially enjoyed the view out the window high above Houston. Where Robert has a birds-eye view of the Minute Maid Field where the Houston Astros play. He told us, from his window he can see the score below in the stadium. I have seen some great views, but I have to admit this view with accompanying statement, “I can see the score of the game from my window” impacted me.

  • Abuse and Neglect in U.S.A. Residential Treatment Centers a Systemic Problem
MEDICAL WHISTLEBLOWER Abuse and Neglect in U.S.A. Residential Treatment Centers A Systemic Problem Dr. Janet L. Parker DVM 8/14/2011 Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) states: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights..." This is a preliminary report on the abuse and neglect of persons in residential treatment for “substance abuse” in the U.S.A. There have been violations of human rights, lack of investigation, prosecution and punishment of the offenders. This prevailing permissive environment has given de jure or de facto amnesty to those who violate human rights. Starting in the 1970’s there were residential treatment facilities for teens that were found to be abusive. The SEED, Straight Inc. and its derivatives, Roloff Homes, WWASPS and, more recently, Teen Challenge were adjudicated “guilty” of human rights abuses. This report explores the ways these perpetrators of abuse have used the political system to protect themselves and exploit loopholes in the law to expand their network of abusive residential treatment facilities for youth. Abuse and Neglect in U.S.A. Residential Treatment Centers ―I wish to acknowledge the courage, perseverance and resilience of those who were closest to this national tragedy and thank Angela Smith, Wesley Fager, Richard ―Ray‖ Bradbury, Kelly Mathews, Marcus Chatfield, Todd Eckelberger, Alex Layne, Christine Flannery, William Earnshaw, Sr. and all the others who shared with me their stories and I also wish to express my appreciation to Judith I.
