    Press release Saturday 28th July 2018 Thousands marvel at amazing aerobatics at #BrayAirDisplay 2018 RAF Red Arrows to perform Flypast over River Liffey at 19.50 this evening Large crowds expected tomorrow to see headliners, The Red Arrows Despite a rainy start to the day, the clouds lifted and the sun shone on the thousands of people who made their way to Bray Promenade today to marvel at spectacular aerobatic performances as part of the award-winning, 13th Bray Air Display, supported by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA). Spectators were treated to a dazzling display of aviation expertise from some of the most talented pilots and aerobatic display teams from across Ireland and Europe. The Irish Air Corps opened the show, followed by the Royal Jordanian Falcons flying four Extra-300 L aircraft, headliners of today’s display. A professional national aerobatic team formed in 1976, the Royal Jordanian Falcons have an international reputation for precision, professionalism and spectacular performance. Peter Kearney, Chief Executive of the Irish Aviation Authority said, “Today was a wonderful start to the IAA’s #AviationIreland weekend of spectacular air displays in Bray and Foynes, Co. Limerick. Tomorrow’s line- up at Bray will be really exciting as well and a great chance to enjoy a wealth of aviation talent on display.” Other display highlights included a Catalina Flying Boat celebrating her 75th birthday and a beautiful vintage Aer Lingus aircraft, the DC-3, popular in the 1940s and 50s. Irish aviation was also celebrated at the event with The Irish Air Corps, the Irish Historic Flight Foundation, the Irish Coast Guard Search and Rescue, and the Garda Support Unit helicopter participating for the first time.

    The History of the Slovak-Hungarian “Little War” and Its Interpretations in National Histories István Janek Before tackling the events of the “Little War”, let us take a brief outlook on the study of it in Hungarian and Slovak historical literature. A great number of Slovak histori- ans have written on this issue producing many articles and conference publications in Slovakia. Here I would like to highlight the most important ones from four his- OPEN ACCESS torians: Ladislav Deák, František Cséfalvay, Zoltán Katreba and Ján Petrik. A lot has been written on the air warfare between the two armies as well: Juraj Rejninec and Ján Petrik from Slovakia and Iván Pataky, László Rozsos together with Gyula Sárhidai and Csaba B. Stenge from Hungary must be mentioned.1 A thorough study of the dip- lomatic aspect has been done only by István Janek in Hungary.2 Ján Petrik has worked at the local history level and he also published a short but detailed monograph on the Hungarian bombing of Spiška Nová Ves.3 Cséfalvay and Katreba are military histori- ans who work for the Slovak Institution of Military History. They focus on the mili- tary events and publish in various Slovakian historical periodicals.4 Cséfalvay has also shown the political connections of military events.5 It is the merit of the works 1 J.     Press Contact: Audrey Cohen Epoch 5 Public Relations 631/427-1713 [email protected] 13TH ANNUAL BETHPAGE AIR SHOW AT JONES BEACH ANNOUNCES ITS BIGGEST AIR SHOW LINEUP EVER United States Navy Blue Angels to Headline Long Island’s Greatest Show For First Time, Three Jet Teams and F-35 Lightning II to Perform Fans Encouraged to Start Making Plans & Arrive Early for Best Seats & Parking Bethpage, NY – May 2, 2016 – Bethpage Federal Credit Union and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation are very pleased to announce the star- studded final lineup for the 2016 Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach taking place Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 28, 2016 and Sunday, May 29, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. For the first time, three jet teams will perform at the Bethpage Air Show including show headliners, the legendary United States Navy Blue Angels, returning to the Bethpage Air Show for their seventh performance during their 70th anniversary season. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will give the final performance of the show at approximately 2 pm. The Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds will be making their 3rd performance at the Bethpage Air Show where they will perform over 50 different formations and maneuvers for fans. The last of the three jet teams to perform is the Breitling Jet Team, the world’s elite professional civilian jet aerobatics team, returning to Long Island for their second consecutive performance following a successful performance last year. The new United States Air Force F-35 Lightning II, the world’s most advanced multi-role fighter aircraft, will also perform at the Bethpage Air Show for the first time in its inaugural year its F-35 Heritage Flight performance.
