We are genuinely happy you are a part of the Spartan Family. We hope you experience a sense of belonging, develop positive relationships, and grow as a human being through the learning available at Sentinel. This year will be filled with the sort of opportunities and events that will make high school a special and memorable part of your life. Take advantage of them. We care about you, your well-being, success, and happiness. Our goal is to help make your time here the most exciting, fun, and productive you’ll have as a student. We hope every student who walks these halls will leave Sentinel prepared for a fulfilling and happy adult life. Please familiarize yourself with this handbook and refer to it when you have a question. Its contents are not intended to be all-inclusive, but are a guide to our expectations and practices. The staff looks forward to the coming year with anticipation and excitement and invites you to join us in our enthusiasm. We are all here to help in any way we can. My door is always open to you. We will continue to foster the development of an inspired 21st Century Educational Culture that improves lifelong student achievement, develops remarkable educational leaders and engages the Missoula community in the future of its children. “Forward Thinking, High Achieving” is a tagline that we use at Missoula County Public Schools. It highlights our goal of continuous improvement of existing programs while also seeking to identify new opportunities to enhance student engagement. MCPS continues to strive for success for every student every day, and this year will be no exception. We are transforming our district’s future through implementation of our 21st Century Model of Education and the “Achievement for All” five-year instructional strategic plan which call for enhanced student engagement, updated learning environments, increased collaboration and communication with all stakeholders, more “personalized” professional growth opportunities for staff, and development of a culture of innovation throughout the district. At MCPS, we challenge all students to succeed academically and graduate regardless of their circumstances and abilities. Each and every student is important; our dedicated educators work hard to ensure that each student is learning and succeeding in the classroom. With continued community support and dedication to our children, we will continue to increase academic rigor, improve graduation rates and prepare our students for post-secondary and workforce success. I am proud to be Big Sky’s Principal leading our students, staff and families through this chapter that will forever be remembered! I have been dedicated to education in Missoula County Public Schools for the past 19 years and look forward to this year with you.     2010 Montana Library Directory Dear Friends: I hope that you’ll find this directory helpful for a variety of purposes. To improve the accuracy and the currency of the directory, we have only published full information from libraries that have updated or verified their listing since January 2009. Thank you to those library staff members who took the time to do so. Libraries that have not updated or verified their listing since January 2009 have a partial listing consisting of the library name, mailing address, and phone number. We have also included the date when the information was last updated or verified. If the library has never updated or verified its listing, the date field reads N/A. Updating or verifying your library’s information is easy – just follow these steps: • Go to the Montana Library Directory Darlene Staffeldt http://www.msl.mt.gov/For_Librarians/Library_Directory/default.asp State Librarian • Click the “Edit” button. • Use the drop-down lists to narrow the search for your library, and then click the “Search” button. • Click on the name of your library. This will bring you to your library’s login screen. • Enter the password that you use to access your library’s directory listing. (If you don’t have your password, choose “Help!!! I can’t remember my password!”). • Click on the “Login” button. This will bring you to the Main Menu. • From the Main Menu, update or verify your library, employee, and board information as needed. Always use the “Buttons” at the bottom of each page to submit your updated or verified information to the State Library.
