Members, it is with great sense of anguish and shock that we have learnt of the untimely demise of Mr. Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela on the 5th March, 2013. Mr. Hugo Chavez was a popular and charismatic leader of Venezuela who always strived for uplifting the underprivileged masses. We cherish our close relationship with Venezuela which was greatly strengthened under the leadership of President Chavez. We deeply mourn the loss of Mr. Hugo Chavez and I am sure the House would join me in conveying our condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Venezuela and in wishing them strength to bear this irreparable loss. We stand by the people of Venezuela in their hour of grief.
