Stewart, D. Crane, D. Lupfer, R. Pernice, R. Oesterle. Standing: C. Dietz, R. Hooper, T. Crownover, T. Grillo and Coach Cassell. CROSS COUNTRY 1964 The 1964 Bulldog harriers have achieved another success ful season under the coaching of Mr. John Cassell. The team’s record was eight victories and three losses, including a loss by one point to Blair Academy, an outstanding team. Unlike the last three seasons, Coach Cassell was without a lead man and had to develop a balanced team of five men of fairly equal ability. Captain Dan Lupfer and Tom Grillo, both seniors, combined for five firsts to lead the harriers to their eight victories. Lupfer was named the most valuable with Grillo as the most improved. Filling the remaining positions were Ray Oesterle, a senior, and Tom Crownover, Keith Stewart, Dick Crane, Richard Pernice and Ray Hooper, all juniors. The season was highlighted with a victory over Lawrence- ville Prep and a fourth place finish in Group II at the Central Jersey Championship. In the dual meet finale, the Bulldogs romped over Highland Park, 18-45. The J.V.’s record was two and one; the freshmen, one and one. Tom Crownover, next year’s captain, and four other lettermen will be the nucleus for another successful season in 1965.
