It reads like a fairytale: Pillay moved to the United States not long after matriculating from Woodlands Secondary to pursue a career in music. By 2013, she had co-written songs for superstars Chris- tina Aguilera and Rihanna. But the highlight was working with rap legend Dr. Dre on his 2015 album, “Compton” for which she co-wrote songs and provided vocals alongside Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Anderson .Paak and Snoop Dogg. “I never imagined working so closely with Dr. Dre and being able to call him a friend,” said The Rise of Pillay. “That was probably one of my favourite first moments in my career.
