Castle Quarter LIGHT NIGHT AT NOTTINGHAM CASTLE Lenton Road, NG1 6EL 6-10pm FREE Enjoy a magical walk around the grounds and discover an array of art installations and family-friendly activities to see and join in with, including lantern making with the Nottingham Girls High School. HIGHWOOD, UNTOUCHED 1916/2018 by Katja Hock, see the Castle bandstand transformed with projected images of High Wood, an untouched woodland location where many soldiers were laid to rest during the Battle of the Somme THE CIRCLE SQUARED by Graham Elstone, interact with the installation to hear an array of sounds and the moving image inspired by stories of folklore, wonder tales and myths INTERACTIVE LIGHT CRYSTALS by Richard Brown, discover these large crystals amongst the trees and sculpt with light TYGER, TYGER look out for the William Blake inspired Tyger as she roams around the Castle Grounds and is joined by her playful cubs ENGLISH COMBAT IN DUNKIRK fighting Star Wars-style with lightsabers THE LIGHT FANTASTIC physics tricks to amaze and entertain the whole family on a theme of light with the Physics Buskers NATURE BUSKING – SILENT DISCO Robin Hood Statue, Castle Road, NG1 6AA 6-9:30pm FREE Bringing light and nature to the city; immerse yourself in sounds of nature – lost in the urban soundscape until they emerge through the silent disco headsets. The birds have been made by artist Shamila Chady during workshops with the Refugee Forum youth group. The full programme of entertainment includes music and dance performances, children’s craft activities, affordable meals and refreshments.
