All locos are listed in one section. This is due to the now less distinct differences and the frequent changes between operational and preserved / private status we see on today’s railway. Unless shown otherwise entries are laid out as follows: * most names are listed separately at end of each section with $ beside the number to denote it is named. Where space allows some EMU names are shown alongside number. # denotes fictitious number Locomotives: (except Cl.01/5 - see section for explanation) No. / [Works No.] - $ Named - Details - Owner - Livery - Pool - Depot / Location - [Prev Nos.] - Name * Diesel and Electric Units: Unit No. - $ Named - Details - Livery - Operator - Depot / Location - Car Nos. - [Prev Nos.] - Name * Preserved Diesel and Electric Units: Car No. - $ Named - Details - Type - Depot / Location - [Prev No.] (Unit No.) - Name * Coaching Stock: No. - Details - Owner - Livery - Operator - Depot / Location - [Prev Nos.] - Name All codes are listed at the back of this book. We have tried to make this book as comprehensive and as user friendly as possible, especially to help newcomers to our hobby, so we hope you enjoy this publication prepared by Inter City Railway Society.
