Calboy Shares New Track and Video for “Brand New” Ft. King Von Via Polo Grounds Music/Rca Records Long Live the Kings Deluxe
CALBOY SHARES NEW TRACK AND VIDEO FOR “BRAND NEW” FT. KING VON VIA POLO GROUNDS MUSIC/RCA RECORDS LONG LIVE THE KINGS DELUXE PROJECT DUE OUT NEXT MONTH INCLUDES FEATURES FROM KING VON, FIVIO FOREIGN, LIL TJAY, LIL BABY AND MORE CLICK HERE TO WATCH/LISTEN [New York, NY – June 19, 2020] Today, multi-platinum selling Chicago artist/rapper/songwriter Calboy releases a new track and visual for “Brand New” ft. King Von. The track is from his upcoming Long Live The Kings Deluxe project which is due out next month via Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records. The video first premiered earlier today via WorldStarHipHop. Click HERE to watch. Released in February, Long Live The Kings, holds special meaning to Calboy as he juggled rising to stardom last year with his 3x platinum hit “Envy Me,” while also losing six of his closest friends to violence in Chicago. The name Long Live The Kings pays tribute to his fallen friends. The deluxe edition coming July 10th will feature 5 additional tracks that include features from King Von and rising Brooklyn drill artist, Fivio Foreign and more. The original EP included features from Lil Baby, Lil Tjay and G Herbo. On the initial release, Calboy shared what the title means to him: “Long Live The Kings is an ode to six of my friends from Chicago who passed away last year. Each song speaks to who they were and what they stood for. It’s also a tribute to everyone we lose to senseless violence, including the most recent loss of Pop Smoke. -

However, 90 percent of my friends are, and my earliest memory of my father is watching him play Final Fan- tasy. So even though I wasn’t one of the people who spent my weekend download- ing Borderlands 2 or Torchlight 2, I can still deeply appreciate what game culture has done for me. I’ve met some of my best friends through Meta-Gaming Club, and, even though I consider myself a huge geek, just in diff erent ways, gaming wasn’t exact- ly on my radar until college. As such, I’ve learned quite a bit about the world of gaming, whether I have enjoyed it or not. For one thing, a ‘gamer’ doesn’t necessarily mean an acne-ridden virgin draped in wizard robes in their mother’s basement. Th ough, that’s not to say that never happens anymore. A gamer can be anyone from someone religiously playing Angry Birds on their phone or any devoted fan waiting outside Game Stop during all hours of the night for the newest consoles ben berrick or Halo installments. by phoebefooks and patrickmurphy As a whole, I think we can all agree that stereotypes are stupid as hell. Baka Not Nice Releases 'No Long Talk.' Via OVO Sound
BAKA NOT NICE RELEASES no long talk. THREE NEW TRACKS – FEATURING JUICY J AND GIGGS CURRENTLY ON TOUR ACROSS EUROPE WITH DRAKE ON THE ASSASSINATION VACATION TOUR LISTEN TO no long talk. https://ovosound.io/nolongtalk MARCH 22, 2019 (TORONTO, ONT.) – Today, OVO’s Baka Not Nice has shared three new tracks, together titled no long talk. The project consists of coast-to-coast scorcher “My Town" feat. Giggs, the ominous "30” and strip-club-ready “Caddy's” feat. Juicy J. The trifecta of songs is a deeper dive into Baka’s life experiences, both past and present. The music is built on the foundation where actions speak louder, dedication to the craft is key and loyalty is paramount. The expression "no long talk" is West Indian Patois, commonly used to express frustration with someone who talks too much. Baka’s no long talk. arrives amidst his live tour dates in the UK as support on the Assassination Vacation arena-tour with Drake. It is also the first offering from the Toronto native since his debut mixtape 4Milli was released in 2018 on OVO Sound/Warner Bros. Records. In addition, Baka Not Nice recently announced that his breakout hit song “Live Up To My Name” from the 4milli mixtape has earned RIAA Certified Platinum status in Canada and RIAA Gold status in the United States. “Live Up To My Name” has been streamed over 100 million times since its release. The Very Thought of Long Beach, CA Immediately Brings O.G. Culture to Mind
The very thought of Long Beach, CA immediately brings O.G. culture to mind. You can practically see those classic Snoop Dogg and Warren G videos on repeat at the mention of the city. For as inextricably connected to West Coast hip-hop as the LBC may be, it gives rise to a fresh and fiery voice for soul in Giveon. With nearly half-a-million independent streams to his credit and acclaim by everyone from Flaunt to HotNewHipHop, the Long Beach-born singer and songwriter infuses Rat Pack-style classiness into modern R&B. “It’s a different perspective,” he explains. “There’s soul to it. There’s pop to it. However, I want to speak on relatable things everybody thinks about but nobody says—in a classy way. The goal is just to be Giveon.” One of three brothers raised by a single mother, he gravitated towards music at a young age. He initially found inspiration in Frank Ocean and Miguel between performing at school functions. As he recalls, “Mom did a really good job of sheltering us, so we didn’t fall into what was going on outside like the gang culture and poverty.” Attending a GRAMMY® Academy program at eighteen proved transformative as the instructor implored him to perform Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me To The Moon” for a project. “I had an epiphany after initially hearing Sinatra,” he says. “It was the very first time I heard a baritone singer. I got into Bobby Caldwell and Barry White from there. I realized my tone at this point.” Developing his own baritone delivery, he caught the attention of another Long Beach local and multiplatinum singer and songwriter AUGUST 08 [DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber] who served as an initial mentor. -
