Medical facul- ty, staff and students of DHMC and DMS are invited to join our reunion classes to hear from several alumni physicians and join the discussion on a diverse set of topics. CME credits will be offered to interested attendants. A separate flyer will outline the final speakers and topics. 1:30 - 4:00 pm Class of 1967 Special Mini-Symposium • Borwell 758 W, DHMC The Class of 1967 is organizing its own special symposium. All members of the class are invited to speak, providing a 15-20 minute presentation, on a medical topic of their choice, reflecting their experiences and careers. CME credit can be earned by attending the session. 1:00 - 4:00 pm An Afternoon at the Montshire The Montshire Museum of Science, Norwich, VT Bring your children to this award-winning, interactive Montshire Museum, photo by Andrew Wellman science museum—just across the Connecticut River in courtesy Norwich, VT. Visit the bubble room, insect exhibits, and natural history kiosks as well as the new Science Park and walking trails. Visit anytime during the weekend; just mention DMS Reunion. 6:00 - 9:00 pm Welcome Reception • Dartmouth Outing Club Pick up your registration packet for the weekend. Partake of the ample hors d’oeuvres and beverages with friends as you enjoy the view of Occom Pond. Then spend the evening returning to your old Hanover haunts or visiting new ones. Late night music at the Canoe Club on Main Street? Coffee at the Dirt Cowboy? Don’t forget the Nugget Theater—new and expanded! Hit Ben & Jerry’s as you stroll through town. Please call us at (603) 653-0795 by September 14, to reserve a tee time. 9:30 - 10:15 am Coffee and Conversation with Dean Stephen Spielberg Rubin Atrium, 6th Floor, DHMC Enjoy a continental breakfast and meet the Dean of DMS. Get an update on current developments in the curriculum and learn about the Dean’s priorities for the future, including the Transforming Medicine campaign. 10:00 am-5:00 pm Canoe the Connecticut • Ledyard Canoe Club, Hanover Launch from the Ledyard Canoe Club and view the glory of fall from the vantage of the Connecticut River. Canoes have been reserved for DMS alumni on Saturday and Sunday. 10:30 - 11:15 am Individual Class Meetings The Classes of ’57, ’62, ’67, ’77, ’92, ’97, and 2002 will gather to select a nominee to the DMS Alumni Council. Locations for these brief meetings will be listed in your registration packets distributed at the Welcome Reception. 11:30 - 2:00 pm All Class and Family Barbecue/Tailgate Party The BEMA Don’t miss a delicious cookout with your classmates and current medical students. All classes and families are invited. Cheer on the Classes of 1967, 1982, 1987, and 1992 as they present their class gifts to Dean Spielberg. Special activities for the kids. After lunch, enjoy a hike on one of the nearby trails or head off to other amusements and fun in the Upper Valley. 12:30 pm Football Game: Dartmouth vs. Penn • Memorial Field Cheer for the Big Green on the gridiron as they face off against the Quakers! 12 noon - 5:00 pm Saturday Sojourns, Treks and Adventures Enjoy the afternoon close to campus or take one of the specially arranged excursions below. First, have lunch at the All Class Picnic and/or pick up a savory box lunch and directions to head out for an Upper Valley autumn afternoon in one of these nearby designated sites. Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site • Cornish, NH Enjoy the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site which consists of 150 acres including the home, gardens, and studios of Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848- 1907), one of America’s foremost sculptors. One of his most famous works was the mural sculpture honoring the Massachusetts 54th Volunteer Infantry of black soldiers and their commander, Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, located in downtown Boston; one of the original stages of the mural is located at the site. Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park/Billings Farm & Museum • Woodstock, VT Explore these two historic centers. The national park offers ranger-led walks and tours, including the mansion and gardens, and a new Civil War walk. Billings Farm and Museum, a working farm and dairy farm since 1871, engages visitors from Billings Farm & Museum toddlers to seniors. The Park hosts its Forest Festival this courtesy weekend. Join them for celebration of forest history, sci- ence, and art. Enjoy programs for all ages. Hike with an expert ecologist, look behind the scenes at the sustainable management of the Mt. Tom Forest. See first-hand wood- working demonstrations and more. All programs are free. Billings Farm will sponsor Harvest Festival this weekend as well. Attractions will include a traditional husking bee and a lively barn dance; participate in hands-on activities—cider pressing, horse-drawn wagon rides, threshing grain, and historic games. Enjoy cider and homemade doughnuts on the first days of the annual pumpkin sale! There is an entrance fee for this festival. 5:30 - 9:00 pm Children’s Night Out • Woodstock Country Club, South Woodstock, VT Children will enjoy a special night out, too. Joe Denny will host an evening of fun and activity for our junior and teen alumni friends. Joe and his team offer activi- ties through the Dartmouth College Outdoor Programs Department. Supervised swimming and pool time before dinner. Pizza, beverages, and healthy snacks for dinner, followed by age-appropriate videos for our younger and older sets. Also see information on baby-sitter service for infants and pre-school children. 6:30 pm Class Dinners • Woodstock Inn & Resort, Woodstock, VT Meet classmates for cocktails and dinner at one of New England’s finest resorts, the Woodstock Inn. Located in the center of Vermont, in the village of Woodstock, it is known for its charm and is a popular spot for vacations. This inn was an inspiration of Laurence S. Rockefeller and defines country sophistication. Spend the evening rekindling old friendships, networking with other DMS alums, or talking about memories of lab days in Remsen and living in Satchem Village! Don’t forget to bring pictures and other memorabilia to share! Come early for a cocktail reception for all alumni. Then, you’ll move to smaller, more intimate class dinners. Make sure to tell us of any dietary restrictions. We will also stage class photos to capture the moment and send to you later. Sunday, September 30, 2007 9:00 - 11:30 am Farewell Breakfast Reception Hanover Inn, Hayward Lounge Gather for a buffet breakfast and say farewell to classmates before heading home. 10:00am - 3:00pm Canoe the Connecticut Ledyard Canoe Club, Hanover Time for one last activity? Savor the memories of reunion weekend in one final canoe ride. Canoes also have been reserved for DMS alumni.
