The Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) as a software extension within the Environmental System Research Institute (ESRI) ArcGIS© has been used by many researchers in measuring, quantifying, calculating and monitoring shoreline rate-of-change statistics from multiple historic shoreline positions and sources. The main application of DSAS is in utilisation of polyline layers as representation of a specific shoreline feature (e.g. mean high water mark, cliff top) at a particular point in time. A range of statistical change measures are derived within DSAS, based on the comparison of shoreline positions through time. These include Net Shoreline Movement (NSM), Shoreline Change Envelope (SCE), End Point Rate (EPR), Linear Regression Rate (LRR) and Weighted Linear Regression Rate (WLR). Despite the inability of this tool to determine the forcing of morphodynamics, it has been shown to be effective in facilitating an in-depth analysis of temporal and historical movement of shoreline positions and cliff geometry. Make 1 seat from the 3 wards of Tywardreath and Par Parish Council + St Blazey North ward (estimated at 5439 electors in 2023). Make a 2nd seat from St Blazey South ward + both wards of Carlyon parish + Charlestown ward of St Austell Bay parish (estimated at 4650 electors in 2023). Carlyon Bay is hardly separate from St Blazey, it makes no sense having a dividing line down Par Moor Road. Charlestown has links with St Blazey Gate - they now have the same vicar and the buses from St Blazey go through there. Some adjustment would probably have to be made as to where the line is drawn between the St Blazey parish wards - either ABN2 or 3 might have to be moved into St Blazey South to even up the numbers for each Cornwall Council seat. The Fowey estuary contains intertidal mud and sediments, as well as saltmarshes and unusual estuarine rocky habitats which create an environment capable of supporting a diverse range of species. A range of habitats and associated species are present within these MCZs including coastal saltmarshes and sa- line reedbeds. Saltmarshes are found in the upper sections of intertidal mudflats, in areas sheltered from wave action and are characterised by a range of specialised salt tolerant species. Saline reedbeds are restricted to the very top of the tidal range, typically in areas where there are freshwater inputs which create more brackish condi- tions. Intertidal mud flats and saltmarshes act as important food and habitat resources for wading birds and wild- fowl.
