In the summer of 2018 a 'consultation' on the future of the Central Library was undertaken by the council, including an online survey. A printed questionnaire was also available in the library. This consisted of an A2, folded, heavy, gloss, printed on both sides, full colour 'advert' for the new Broadmarsh and some questions about library use. In relation to this questionnaire, could you please confirm:- 1. The number of sheets (where each questionnaire is a sheet) printed. 20,000. 2. The number of completed sheets (questionnaires) returned. 1,595 questionnaires were returned, including 514 paper copies and 1,081 online. 3. The number of respondents:- a) in favour of plans to relocate 1,326, including online responses. A small number of responses did not state a preference. b) against council plans to relocate 227, including online responses. A small number of responses did not state a preference. 4. The total printing cost for the entire print run of sheets. £2,338. 5. Other locations, apart from Angel Row, where the sheets were made available for the public to give their opinions. -

One findspot is recorded within the buffer zone, a Bronze Age flint arrowhead. No listed buildings or Scheduled Monuments are recorded within the site or buffer zone. The Magnesian Limestone in South and West Yorkshire Aerial Photographic Mapping Project records levelled ridge and furrow remains within the buffer zone. The Historic Environment Characterisation records the present character of the site as modern commercial core- suburban, probably associated with the construction of Moorends mining village in the first half of the 20th century. There is no legibility of the former parliamentary enclosure in this area. In the western part of the buffer, the landscape character comprises land enclosed from commons and drained in 1825, with changes to the layout between 1851 and 1891 in association with the construction of a new warping system. -

Nottingham Heritage Strategy A future heritage for the city Nottingham’s Heritage strategy is a partnership document, produced by Nottingham City Council in consultation with stakeholders across the city. Foreword Nottingham has a distinct sense of ‘place’. It’s somewhere different, somewhere special and, for those who live in the city, somewhere local. The diversity of the city’s heritage is its strength, and its history of growth, adaptation and development has helped establish a cultural destination and an economic centre where people can invest with confidence. Nottingham has a track record of successful heritage-led regeneration, attracting substantial inward investment and channelling it into the city’s open spaces, historic buildings and local communities. The latest and most ambitious project will transform Nottingham Castle, celebrating over 1000 years of history, exploring the city’s well-earned reputation as a place of protest and rebellion and showcasing its prestigious heritage and art collections. One Nottingham Bulletin February 2017 MESSAGE FROM THE JANUARY BOARD The first One Nottingham Board meeting of 2017 was lively and full. Jane Todd welcomed two new members to the meeting – Professor Karen Cox from the University of Nottingham and Dawnay Robinson, the new Youth Council Representative. The meeting also thanked the retiring Chief Constable, Sue Fish, for her time on the One Nottingham Board. The meeting wished her well for the future after her career in the Nottingham Police Force. Board Member, Dr Hugh Porter and City of Football Director, Amanda Chambers, informed the Board on the progress on the physical activity targets in the Nottingham Plan and the radical ways in which City of Football has encouraged people, of different ages and abilities, to just kick a football. The ON Board agreed to back a bid to Sport England from Nottingham for the Local Pilot. The bid will address the fact that too many Nottingham people are inactive and life expec- tancy is too short in many parts of the city. Our aim is to increase the number of people who take part in sport and activity, for the wider benefits it can bring, in terms of physical and mental wellbeing, for individual, community and economic development. The Board agreed that culture change will be the only way to do this. Youth Council Representative Nottingham Black Intergenerational Group attended the meeting and led a discussion on the is- sues impacting on the life and social prospects of black people in Nottingham.
