UWC Dilijan: one absolutely happy school Better to learn and understand other people when they differ from us more difficult than those who belong to the same community with us. But at the same time is much more useful: when we come into contact with representatives of other traditions and cultures, different mentality, understand the common and the differences between us — horizons inevitably expand, the mind becomes more flexible, leave prejudices and the tendency to stereotypical thinking. The result is much more than knowledge about how different countries celebrate the New year. The policy of multiculturalism, growing since the 1970s years in many countries of the world has always been through understanding the diversity of cultures, identities, points of view — to come to an understanding of unity and wholeness. And thereby reduce tension in the society, to reduce the number of conflicts to reach the realization that any two people, no matter how they differed from each other, are part of humanity. And, therefore, their culture can interact, intertwine, to become part of human culture. Of course, education can become a powerful driving force in the process of bringing people and cultures. Denise Davidsandercott UWC Dilijan (has 48 years of experience in the field of education): "Our new academic year started with a remarkable event. It was deep night, the sky the moon is shining bright, the air was pierced cool. The sophomores gathered near the dining room, dressed in his own way: someone in pajamas, someone draped over his shoulder and blankets. It seems to be frozen in anxious waiting. And finally, a bus arrived with the new students, and the silence of the night was filled with fun sounds greetings. The door swung open and a sleepy-eyed freshmen, tired after long hours of flights and transfers from different parts of the world, faced a wave of joyful applause met them cordially, as a family. In this small story from the life of the College, as a mirror reflects the world of UWC Dilijan. In this world filled with care and skill to share joy, understand each other, which is rarely seen in other places. Thanks to such episodes as the meeting of new students, more clearly understand, for what, actually, we all gathered under one roof today: UWC Dilijan is primarily a student community, as well as a wonderful experience of learning, socializing and building relationships that can grow into friendship at the intersection of different cultures. math homework help It might be interesting: 4 advanced schools from different parts of the Earth Two and a half years the school has formed its principles, spirit, and culture. Daria Pakinstani UWC Dilijan "Before arriving in Dilijan I was living in a small urban village, which is not far from Yaroslavl. A lot of the time I spent in the classroom, participated in various competitions, as well as in regional and international competitions. But school is not the leading criterion for admission to the UWC that I support. I also attended sports ski school for six years, in addition, did horse riding, drawing and music. In the last two years, I paid much attention to volunteering and social work: helped to organize various meetings with foreign guests, participated in the cleanup efforts of the environment and was just trying to be nice to people. After all, a volunteer is not someone who is active, while others appreciate it, and those who do not pass the trouble, despite the fact that he has his own problems. I love people who think a lot about human problems, about the situation on the planet. I always wanted to be a good person and to do something for this world through psychology, because, in my opinion, it is very important in our time when the world is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. And, I think, UWC will help me to achieve my goal! Life here is amazing, not comparable to anything on this planet. I Wake up every morning with confidence that I want to go to school — this has never happened in Russia. The atmosphere they create in the classroom, home like, friendly. The teachers find an individual approach to every student, are invited to remain after school if the student did not understand, and we have the opportunity to meet the teachers evening at the residence and to talk about the lessons, play tennis or enjoy a Cup of coffee together — because we live close to each other. Therefore, the interaction with teachers very closely. Great attention is paid to review items, so after school students usually go to the library and continue to learn, someone makes the lessons even at night — because in UWC there are so many things I want to get done that sometimes the lessons do not have time. To live and learn at the UWCD, we must first be able to organize your time. Life here is extremely rich! For me, the most surprising here is freedom from other people's opinions and prejudices (no that would be called abnormal, people treat everybody with understanding), relationships with the teachers (I never got such support from teachers) and, of course, cultural diversity (I live together with people from 70 different countries)".
