B. ARMM 1. A tornado occurred in Brgy Damatog, North , on May 15, 2009 . a) Fifteen (15) houses mostly made of light materials were totally destroyed with an estimated cost placed at PhP250, 000.00 . b) There was no casualty reported. c) A total of 100 persons were reported homeless and were setting up temporary shelters along the road while others were seeking refuge at the Hall and evacuees have already been served by MDCC North Kabuntalan

2. A flashflood occurred in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao on May 18, 2009 at around 11:00 PM. a) Flood waters have already reached portion of Cotabato-Davao National Highway in Barangay Bulalo. b) A total of 6,865 families have been affected in Brgys Bulalo, Salimbao, Calsada, Banigo, Katuli, Lower Limbao and Maluag. c) There has been no massive displacement except the two families that were brought to safer areas. Todate, Brgy Damatog and other nearby barangays in North kabuntalan are still under water as of reporting time d) Based on the assessment of local authorities, these floodwaters came from the highlands of Alamada and pigcawayan, Cotabato Province and Matanog, and , Maguindanao triggered by continuous heavy rains which started since last week. . e) Further info revealed that the cause of these incidents is due to slow-pace action of DPWH on the rechanneling of Simuay River and dredging of heavily silted Rio Grande de Mindanao which traverses between Sultan Kudarat and . Actions Taken f) The PresidentialTask Force in Mindanao River Basin Rahabilitation and Development (PTF-MRBRD) headed by Archbishop Orlando Quevado will meet in Koronadal City on May 20, 2009 to discuss the updates of the undertakings of the Task Force since it was created last year and to discuss further on the recurring flooding situations in Regions XII and ARMM. C. Region X 1. Flooding occurred in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte at 7PM, May 18, 2009. 2. A total of 143 families/715 persons were affected in 8 barangays namely: Brgys Manayahay, Pugaan, Tambacan, Ubaldo Laya, Pala-o, Tipanoy and Tubod. 3. Seventeen (17 houses were totally damaged in Brgys Pugaan, Ubaldo Laya and Pala-o. Damaged houses in other barangays are still undetermined.

Actions taken 4. Honorable Laurence Cruz, CDCC Iligan Chairman is on site visit at the evacuation center at the Ubaldo-Laya Barangay Hall. 5. CDCC Iligan and BDCCs concerned are now providing relief assistance to the affected families.

D. Region XII 1. A tornado affected Barangays New Pangasinan, Concepcion and Sto. Nino, Koronadal City, South Cotabato on May 10, 2009.

2 a) Twenty four (24) families were affected with 11 houses damaged (7 totally and 4 partially ). b) A total of 8.5 hectares of banana, mango, rice, corn and vegetable plantations were affected in Brgys New Pangasinan and Sto Nino with an estimated cost placed at PhP236,000.00. Actions Taken c) The CDCC DANA team composed of DA City Engineers Office, CSWDO and BDCCs concerned conducted an ocular survey in the affected areas to assess the actual damage to crops.

2. A lightning incident occurred in Sitio Toril, New Dumangas, T’boli, South Cotabato on May 10, 2009 at 4:30 PM. a) Four (4) persons were reported injured and were brought to South Cotabato Provincial Hospital for medical treatment. They were discharged after proper medical treatment. b) PCWDO extended food assistance to the families of the victims .
