Our 42-acre park is home to astounding, man-made earthworks from the thirteenth century and a museum that houses our archaeological collection. When you visit, you will have a unique opportunity to learn about archeology, anthropology, architecture, history, geography, and Native American traditions. In this field trip guide, you will find the information you need to plan your visit, as well as a history of Winterville Mounds, pre-visit and post-visit classroom activities, and a scavenger hunt for your class to complete on the day of the trip.
