Family Reunion A permanent residence visa may be granted to legal dependants of a Brazilian national/a foreign national with permanent resident status in Brazil, or to the foreign citizen who is a parent of a Brazilian national, based on Normative Resolution ("Resolução Normativa - RN") n° 108/2014. * On a reciprocity basis, first entry into Brazil must be no later than 90 days after the visa has been issued for passport holders of the following countries: Angola, Bahrain, Cambodia, Cape Verde, China, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Greece, Honduras, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Laos, Libya, Myanmar, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Paraguay, Portugal, Philippines, Qatar, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Syria, Switzerland, Thailand, Taiwan and Tunisia. * Nationals of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic: visas are issued on Laissez-Passer because Brazil does not maintain diplomatic relations. For periods that do not exceed 90 days. Within 30 days of arrival in Brazil, bearers of this type of visa must register with the Brazilian Immigration authorities at the Federal Police (“Polícia Federal – DPMAF”) and submit a copy of the visa application form, which will have been stamped and returned to them by this Consulate. ________________________________________________________________________________ REQUIRED DOCUMENTS _________________________________________________________________________________ a) Applicant married to a Brazilian national, or to a foreign national permanent resident in Brazil From the applicant: 1. Applicant’s valid passport, with at least two blank pages. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. Please note that, for those married to Brazilian nationals, the name in the submitted passport has to be exactly the same as in the Brazilian marriage certificate. Please bring the passport with a copy of the relevant page(s). 2. One 3x4cm or 3.5x4.5cm size photograph with a clear background; 3. Visa application form, which must be filled in online (click here). Please print and bring to the appointment just the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER); 4. Original marriage certificate*. If married to a Brazilian national, the marriage certificate has to be registered at this Consular Section, if issued in Ireland. If issued in another country, it has to be registered at the Brazilian diplomatic representation in that country or, apostilled/legalised and registered at this Consular Section. * Please bring the original document with an ordinary copy. If the spouse is in Brazil, a certified copy of this document, already registered, or legalised (if both are foreign nationals) is accepted. 5. Police Certificate of Character, which can be obtained at the any Garda station in Ireland within the last three months for applicants over 18 years. This certificate may take up to six weeks to be issued. From the spouse (Brazilian, or foreign national permanent resident in Brazil): 1. If Brazilian: original Brazilian identification card (RG) or Brazilian passport; if foreign national: Brazilian registration card (RNE), and passport. Please bring as well an ordinary copy of these identification cards, plus a copy of the relevant page/s of the passports. The foreign passport copy should include the page with the registration with the Brazilian Federal Police (if applicable). If the spouse is in Brazil, certified copies of these documents are accepted. 2. Term of Responsibility ("Termo de Responsabilidade"), signed in the presence of the consular authority upon presentation of the passport and identification card. If the spouse (a Brazilian national or foreign national permanent resident) is in Brazil, the document should have the signature certified by a notary public (“tabelião”) in Brazil. Applicants intending to travel accompanied by children (under 18 years, or up to the calendar year when the dependent, in full time academic education, completes 24 years of age). Applicable to the children of the foreign national, married to the foreign citizen permanent resident in Brazil. - Valid passport for each child; - Online application form filled in for each child; - Original of the Police Certificate of Character issued by Garda Station for those of 18 years and above; - Full version birth certificates for the children. If the certificates were issued outside Ireland, they will have to be duly legalised by the Brazilian diplomatic representation in the issuing country. In respect of children under 18 of divorced parents, a court order of custody, duly legalised by this Consular Section (if issued in Ireland), in case of contested (with regards to children) divorce; or an authorisation from the parent staying behind, certified by a notary public and legalised by this Consular Section, in case of uncontested (with regards to children) divorce. * For minors (under 18 years of age), the printed application must be signed by both parents. * When filling in the application form please state the parents’ full names, as displayed in your birth/marriage certificate. b) Applicant who is a parent of a Brazilian national: From the applicant: 1. Applicant’s valid passport, with at least two blank pages. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. Please note that, for those married to Brazilian nationals, the name in the submitted passport has to be exactly the same as in the Brazilian marriage certificate. Documented proof that the applicant financially supports the child, such as: bank statements showing the regular deposit of money in the child/child’s mother account; a notarised declaration by the child’s mother stating that the applicant supports the child financially; or any other means to establish a relation with the child, like payment of school tuitions, health plan/insurance etc; 5. Police Certificate of Character, which can be obtained at the any Garda station in Ireland and may take up to six weeks to be issued. From the child: 1. Original Brazilian birth certificate. * Please bring the original document with an ordinary copy. .
