It is an international identifier for serials and continuing resources in the electronic and print worlds. It can be assigned to any serial or continuing resources whether past, present or to be published in the foreseeable future whatever the medium of production (e.g. print, online, CD-ROM, etc.]. Some examples are journals, magazines, newspapers and annual reports [print and electronic], databases, websites. It is composed of the prefix ISSN followed by two (2) groups of four (4) numbers separated by a central hyphen. The last character is used as a check digit and can be a numeral or the upper case letter X. Example: ISSN 2094-9987 or ISSN 2243-724X The assignment of an ISSN does not imply any exclusive rights to a title or any legal evidence with regard to ownership of rights. However, ISSN is used by reproduction rights agencies in some countries for the management of their system of copyright fees and royalties levied, for example, for the photocopying of articles ISSN in the Philippines The ISSN National Center in the Philippines started operating in late 1975 with the National Science Development Board (NSDB) as the National Center. In 1981, the ISSN National Center was transferred to the National Library as part of its integrated bibliographic services. This is in keeping with the internationally accepted practice of establishing National Centers within the framework of national libraries together with the national agency for ISBN as part of its supportive programs. What is the used of ISSN? The ISSN is the unique identifier for serials, is used by many different types of organizations and interest groups to fulfill a wide range of purposes: Publishers and subscription agencies: ISSN enables disambiguation between titles that are the same or similar to each other. It is a key data element for successful Open URL implementation. Press distributors: Faster and easier distribution thanks to the embedding of ISSN in EAN 13 bar codes. iv Libraries and union-catalogues: Records can be downloaded in order to update a local catalogue or database. Valuable for file matching and de-duplication; for document delivery and inter-library loan; for transactions with subscription agencies [ordering, claiming, paying invoices, etc.]. Scholars, Researchers, Scientists: a basic requirement for all scholarly serials and publications: it is taken into account in the evaluation process of scholarly publications. Electronic resources management The ISSN is the major key for the building of access: and knowledge bases for the management and access to electronic resources, and for the accurate building and processing of Open URLs. Publications eligible for ISSN assignment ISSN is requested only if the publication is either print or electronic which belongs to one of the categories stated below: · Serial. A continuing resource in any medium, issued in a succession of discrete parts, usually bearing numbering, that has no predetermined conclusion. Examples of serials include journals, magazines, electronic journals, ongoing directories, annual reports, newspapers, monographic series, and newsletters. · Journal. A term frequently used for periodical, particularly more learned periodicals. · Newspaper. A serial issued at states and frequent intervals, usually daily, weekly or semi-weekly and that reports events and discuses topics of general current interest. · Magazine. A print periodical containing miscellaneous pieces (such as articles, stories, poems) and often illustrated. · Monographic series. A group of separate continuing resources related to one another by the fact that each continuing resource bears, in addition to its own title proper, a collective title applying to the group as a whole, i.e., the title proper of the series. The separate continuing resources may or may not be numbered. The items within a series may be monographs or may constitute serials. v Publications not eligible for ISSN assignment · Personal resources (personal web sites and web pages, online diaries) · Resources focusing on a company, a product, an institution or an organization advertising and promotional websites, commercial web sites, product information web sites, company, organization and institutional websites. · Ephemeral resources or materials that are transitory or short-lived. · Web sites consisting only of links. · Books. The identifier applicable to books is the International Standard Book Number (ISBN). vi FREQUENCY Daily Published everyday Weekly Published once a week Biweekly Published every weeks Monthly Published once a month Bi-Monthly Published every (2) two months Semi-annual Published (2) two times in a year, Every six months (bi-annual) Triannual Published (3) three times in a year Quarterly Published (4) four times in a year Annually Published once a year Biennial Published once every (2) two years Triennial Published once every (3) tree years Quadrennial Published once every (4) four years Quinquennial Published once every (5) five years Sexennial Published once every (6) six years Septennial Published once every (7) seven years Octennial Published once every (8) eight years Novennial Published once every (9) nine years Decennial Published once every (10) ten years Semestral Published in an academic period Irregular Published in a non-regular basis; Published in different times vii ISSN National Center of the Philippines List of Registered Serials # 1 #Tugon ISSN 2074-2952 Philippine Normal University Starting date: 2019 Annually A 2 Academe, The ISSN 2672-2402 College of Education University of Batangas Starting date: 1999 Annually 3 Accountancy, Business and ISSN 2672-3395 Economics Research Journals Department of Accountancy and Business College of Arts and Sciences San Beda University Starting date: 1999 Semestral 4 Accreluscence ISSN 2672-2615 Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology Starting date: 2016 Semi-annual 5 ACSCU NCR/SL ISSN 2672-3115 Research Congress Proceedings Philippine Christian University Starting date: 2017 Annually 6 Adventist University Research Journal (online) ISSN 2672-3387 Adventist University of the Philippines Starting date: 2019 Semi-annual 7 Aerodrome ISSN 2672-2488 University of Perpetual Help School of Aviation Starting date: 2018 Annually 8 Agape ISSN 2704-3509 Nursing Faculty Research Journal World Citi Colleges Starting date: 2017 Annually 1 9 Agenda ISSN 2672-2348 College of Business and Accountancy University of Batangas Starting date: 2006 Annually 10 Aguhon ISSN 2704-3533 Department of Education Regional Office XI Starting date: 2019 Annually 11 ALCUCOA Research Journal ISSN 2672-2518 Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation Starting date: 2018 Annually 12 Ambag ISSN 2704-2960 Philippine Normal University Starting date: 2019 Annually 13 Ang Bagong Saksi ISSN 2672-3050 Margo Management and Consultancy

International Journal of Caring Sciences May-August 2018 Volume 11 | Issue 2| Page 697 Original Article Caring Behavior and Patient Satisfaction: Merging for Satisfaction Kathyrine A. Calong Calong School of Dentistry, Centro Escolar University, Manila, Philippines Gil P. Soriano, MHPEd, RN Assistant Professor, College of Nursing, San Beda University, Manila, Philippines Correspondence: Gil P. Soriano, MHPEd, RN, Assistant Professor, College of Nursing, San Beda University, Manila, Philippines E-mail address: [email protected] Abstract Background: Caring is considered as the fundamental concept of nursing role and provides framework to guide the nursing practice. It involves viewing the totality of an individual in order to provide an optimal level of care to patients. However, this has become a challenge in the current health care system due to the advancement of technology coupled by scarce resources, shortage of nursing personnel and occupational stress. Objectives: The purpose of this descriptive-correlational study was to determine the level of caring behaviors of nurses as perceived by the nurses and patients and determine the difference between their perceptions. Furthermore, the relationship between the level of caring behavior and patient’s satisfaction was determined. Methodology: A purposive sample of 101 patients and 47 nurses were selected in medical-surgical unit of selected Level 3 Hospitals in Manila, Philippines. Staff nurses and patients were asked to rate the level of caring behavior using the Clinical Nurse Patient Interaction Scale (CNPI) Also, patients were asked to rate their level of satisfaction using the Patient Satisfaction Instrument (PSI). Results: Finding suggests that nurses rated themselves higher in terms of caring behavior as compared to the ratings of the patients.

Edinburgh Graveyards Project: Documentary Survey For Canongate Kirkyard --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Canongate 1.1. Background Canongate’s close proximity to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, which is situated at the eastern end of Canongate Burgh, has been influential on both the fortunes of the Burgh and the establishment of Canongate Kirk. In 1687, King James VII declared that the Abbey Church of Holyroodhouse was to be used as the chapel for the re-established Order of the Thistle and for the performance of Catholic rites when the Royal Court was in residence at Holyrood. The nave of this chapel had been used by the Burgh of Canongate as a place of Protestant worship since the Reformation in the mid sixteenth century, but with the removal of access to the Abbey Church to practise their faith, the parishioners of Canongate were forced to find an alternative venue in which to worship. Fortunately, some 40 years before this edict by James VII, funds had been bequeathed to the inhabitants of Canongate to erect a church in the Burgh - and these funds had never been spent. This money was therefore used to build Canongate Kirk and a Kirkyard was laid out within its grounds shortly after building work commenced in 1688. 1 Development It has been ruminated whether interments may have occurred on this site before the construction of the Kirk or the landscaping of the Kirkyard2 as all burial rights within the church had been removed from the parishioners of the Canongate in the 1670s, when the Abbey Church had became the chapel of the King.3 The earliest known plan of the Kirkyard dates to 1765 (Figure 1), and depicts a rectilinear area on the northern side of Canongate burgh with arboreal planting 1 John Gifford et al., Edinburgh, The Buildings of Scotland: Pevsner Architectural Guides (London : Penguin, 1991).
