Eng, team leader Pavement Design and road construction Tomas has been working at the Swedish National Road Administration and Swedish Transport Administration since 1995. He is responsible for the design code for pavements, bearing capacity and frost design, works as a project manager for R&D road technology. He is also involved in BWIM measurements and works with the effects of heavier loads on the Swedish road network. [email protected] • Marcus Larsson M.Sc Road engineering Marcus has worked at the Swedish Road Administration/Transport Administration since 1994, at a road laboratory and with planning asphalt pavement and bearing capacity for roads. Today Marcus works with Road Technology – Asphalt Pavement. He's also head of section for technical specialists at the investments department in the northern part of Sweden. [email protected] • Jan-Erik Lundmark, National Coordinator and Senior Advisor for pavement road maintenance Jan-Erik is a civil engineer at Lulea technical university in Sweden. Jan-Erik has worked in road maintenance for 17 years. Responsibilities include planning and maintaining 80,000km of paved roads, road markings and road network measurements. [email protected] • Torsten Nordgren, Bitumen and pavement expert Torsten has worked with asphalt pavement and bitumen questions full time since beginning of seventies 40 years plus. He has worked as contractor, bitumen supplier and laboratory manager and technical adviser and project manager for research and development of asphalt pavements. [email protected] Swedavia Swedavia owns, operates and develops a network of ten Swedish airports. Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Göteborg Landvetter Airport have the most passengers. The company, which is wholly owned by the Swedish State, was formed in 2010 when airport operations that previously belonged to Luftfartsverket (LFV) were converted into a limited liability company. Swedavia works in an international market that is subject to competition. The strategic analysis undertakes three well-established frameworks: PEST Analysis, Porter’s Five Forces Analysis, and SWOT Analysis. The aim of these is to present the driving factors, both internal and external, from a macroeconomic-, industrial-, and company perspective, which potentially will affect NCC’s businesses. The findings of the strategic analysis provided an opportunistic outlook for NCC based on the increasing population and urbanization, low expected interest rates, and stable expected GDP growth in especially NCC’s primary market, which is the main source for the company’s business. In addition, NCC’s foreseeing position within technology, environmental consciousness, and brand reputation contributes to a favorable future market position. The financial health of NCC is evaluated in the financial analysis, and considers its ten-year historical development. The revenues have shown an upward-sloping trend after the financial crisis, which indeed affected NCC but from which they have managed to recover. Essential key ratios such as ROE and ROIC are benchmarked against two competitors of NCC, in terms of Skanska and Peab. NCC outperformed its competitors regarding ROE, while Skanska performed better regarding ROIC.
