SCARLET – German/English Hardrock Band Formed 1986 in Reutlingen
SCARLET – German/English hardrock band formed 1986 in Reutlingen Steve Ellis, vocals Steve Ellis (born Stephen John Ellis, 7 April 1950, Edgware, Middlesex) is an English rock / pop singer, who now lives in Brighton. His biggest success was with the band, Love Affair. They and he are most well known for the songs "Everlasting Love", "A Day Without Love", "Rainbow Valley" and "Bringing On Back the Good Times". Ellis later felt that Love Affair had run its course, and he left in December 1969 for a solo career: "We never really made it big anywhere but Britain and I think that if we had started to happen in America, I wouldn't have left". In the early 70s he formed the band "Ellis", a short lived partnership with keyboardist Zoot Money. Other members included ex-Peter Bardens guitarist Andy Gee; ex-Fat Mattress bassist Jimmy Leverton, later replaced by Nick South; and drummer Dave Lutton. The group released two albums, Riding on the Crest of a Slump in 1972, and Why Not? the following year. In 1976 one of the most popular Serbian and ex- Yugoslav bands, Smak, covered his song "El Doomo" under the title "El dumo", and achieved great success with it. Ellis subsequently had limited chart success with the rock band Widowmaker, releasing the album Widowmaker in 1976. He also sang on the soundtrack of Loot, a 1970 film based on the Joe Orton's play, directed by Silvio Narizzano. Ellis was performing live with The New Amen Corner throughout 2013 and has a solo album out on Decon Records, entitled The Best of Days TERRY HENDERSON, guitars studio ace living in Germany; co-owner of MARQUEE STUDIOS in Reutlingen; founder and leader of the band Martin Connolly, bass Dumpy's Rusty Nuts are a biker rock band in every sense of the term -- not only do they play the sort of loud, heavy, riff-driven bar boogie you'd expect, but singer and lead guitarist Graham "Dumpy" Dunnell actually started out as a motorcycle mechanic before making the switch to rock & roll. -

MOTORCYCLE JAMBOREE 2019 – Altes Lager Bei Jüterbog – Text Und

Nuclear and Coal in the Postwar US Dissertation Presented in Partial
Power From the Valley: Nuclear and Coal in the Postwar U.S. Dissertation Presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of the Ohio State University By Megan Lenore Chew, M.A. Graduate Program in History The Ohio State University 2014 Dissertation Committee: Steven Conn, Advisor Randolph Roth David Steigerwald Copyright by Megan Lenore Chew 2014 Abstract In the years after World War II, small towns, villages, and cities in the Ohio River Valley region of Ohio and Indiana experienced a high level of industrialization not seen since the region’s commercial peak in the mid-19th century. The development of industries related to nuclear and coal technologies—including nuclear energy, uranium enrichment, and coal-fired energy—changed the social and physical environments of the Ohio Valley at the time. This industrial growth was part of a movement to decentralize industry from major cities after World War II, involved the efforts of private corporations to sell “free enterprise” in the 1950s, was in some cases related to U.S. national defense in the Cold War, and brought some of the largest industrial complexes in the U.S. to sparsely populated places in the Ohio Valley. In these small cities and villages— including Madison, Indiana, Cheshire, Ohio, Piketon, Ohio, and Waverly, Ohio—the changes brought by nuclear and coal meant modern, enormous industry was taking the place of farms and cornfields. These places had been left behind by the growth seen in major metropolitan areas, and they saw the potential for economic growth in these power plants and related industries. -

Moore and More - a Tribute to Gary Moore Is Germany's Most Successful and Leading Gary Moore Tribute Band
- Press Information - Moore and More - a tribute to Gary Moore is Germany's most successful and leading Gary Moore tribute band. Featuring exceptional guitarist Bernd Koegler, the band fascinates every audience with its electrifying show. Played live by the four part band, their performance offers highest level rock and blues entertainment. Audiences regularly are completely enthusiastic after the show. The band got ennobled in August 2015, when guitarist Bernd Koegler acquired Gary Moore's very own The Heritage CM150 prototype guitar that he used during the 1989 / 1990 tours. Bernd uses it onstage again now. This guitar can be seen on the 1990 Montreux DVD. Since July 2016 Bernd even owns another one of Gary Moore’s guitars: the one that became especially famous through the reknown Wikipedia photo: the Gibson 1957 Les Paul Goldtop VOS Darkback Reissue, to bee seen and heard on the AVO Sessions from 2008. Since January 2016 keyboard player and singer Frank Altpeter uses the instruments and original soundpatches, Neil Carter used on Gary Moore's last tour in Montreux 2010. The band is continuously supported by Neil Carter, original keyboard-player, guitarist and singer of the Gary Moore band during the rock era in the 1980s and in 2010. Thus the band is able to re-create the songs as close to the originals as possible. Moore and More authentically re-create Gary Moore's manifold compositions as well as his virtuoso guitar work. This earned the band high appreciation by rock and blues fans. Their many concerts take place in clubs, halls and open airs and always find an enthusiastic audience. -
