Canadian Rockies 7 Days, Sun.- Sat, July 31 - August 6, 2022 The Canadian Rockies are home to some of North America’s most spectacular scenery with jagged peaks, glacial ice-fields, and lovely lakes. Explore beautiful Banff and Jasper, visit Lake Louise, and travel by sno-coach on the Columbia Ice-fields. Day 1 Sun., July 31 Fly to Edmonton, Alberta (D) Welcome to Edmonton, the Capital city of Alberta for an overnight stay. This city is our gateway to the majestic Canadian Rockies. Tonight join together for a welcome dinner. Day 2 Mon., Aug. 1 Jasper National Park & Maligne Lake (B, D) Journey to Jasper National Park, following the Athabasca River Valley to the alpine community of Jasper. A sightseeing tour takes you to Maligne Lake for a scenic boat cruise on the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies to world famous Spirit Island. Check into your Jasper accommodations then enjoy dinner with a wildlife presentation by a local expert who will teach you about this special National Park. Overnight in Jasper at the Chateau Jasper. Day 3 Tues., Aug. 2 The Columbia Icefields & Lake Louise (B,D) Today travel along one of the world’s most spectacular highways, the Icefields Parkway. Visit the powerful Athabasca Falls, then arrive at the vast Columbia Icefields whose waters feed three oceans. Take a ride on the Ice Explorer for an up close look at the Athabasca Glacier. Arrive in beautiful Bow Valley and Lake Louise Village and stay at the Lake Louise Inn. There is time both tonight and tomorrow to stroll the shoreline of Lake Louise, where the emerald-green waters of Victoria Glacier tumble into the lake. Wed., Aug. 3 Yoho National Park, The Spiral Tunnels & The Natural Bridge (B, D) Cross into British Columbia and visit Yoho National Park before arriving in the resort town of Banff for a two-night stay at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn. Day 5. Thurs., Aug. 4 Explore Banff, Bow Falls & Dine at the Banff Springs Resort (B, L) Explore the resort town of Banff. Visit some of Banff’s Lunch at landmark sights including beautiful Bow Falls, Tunnel Banff Springs Resort Mountain Drive and the mysterious Hoodoos. Today’s “peak” highlight is a Gondola Ride up Sulphur Mountain for panoramic views of the Bow Valley and surrounding mountains. A special treat awaits as we enter the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, known as the “Castle in the Rockies” for its sumptuous lunch buffet. Afterward, you’ll have time to explore this historic hotel. Visit downtown Banff with its shops, museums and galleries. Day 6 Fri., Aug. 5 Kananaskis Country, Bar-U Ranch & Calgary (B, L, D) Head to Kananaskis, known as Grizzly Bear Country. Enjoy lunch and a tour of the Bar U Ranch, a UNESCO World Heritage site and once the largest cattle ranch in NorthAmerica. Travel through foothills and ranches to Calgary. Dinner is served at the top of Calgary Tower with the shimmering Rocky Mountains outlined by the sunset light. Overnight at Hotel Arts in Calgary. Day 7 Sat. , Aug. 6 Homeward Bound (B) Fly to San Francisco, returning via motorcoach to San Joaquin County.
