“The Yellow Brick Road to Success”TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE International49 Sports Heritage Association HOSTED BY: Kansas Sports Hall of Fame October 515 South Wichita Street Wichita, KS 67202 23 - 24 ’19 Celebrating Sports Heritage 2019 ISHA ANNUAL CONFERENCE “The Yellow Brick Road to Success” Established in 1971, the International Sports Heritage Association (ISHA) is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to educating, promoting, and supporting organizations, institutions, and individuals engaged in the celebration of sports heritage. ISHA offers a wide variety of services and networking opportunities for sports museums, halls of fame, and other related sports heritage organizations, enabling members to draw upon industry resources for information on administration, development, exhibition design, collections management, public relations, marketing, and merchandising. ISHA has nearly 150 members from around the globe, including Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the United States. Conference Grants are Available Supported through the fundraising initiatives of the Founders Fund, ISHA offers conference grant programs to provide financial assistance for staff members and volunteers of ISHA Regular Member Institutions to attend the annual conference. This year, ISHA will offer Regular Members two conference grants worth up to $1,000 (the registration fee is waived) and two conference registration fee-only grants. Brochure photographs are courtesy of the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame and Visit Wichita. 2 The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame (KSHOF) is an 8,000 square foot facility located at the Wichita Boathouse on the banks of the Arkansas River that celebrates the past, present, and future of athletics in the Sunflower State through the inductee gallery and exhibit space. The KSHOF houses thousands of unique artifacts pertaining to the people and teams that have left a lasting legacy of excellence both on and off the field of competition. The KSHOF is dedicated to the mission of “honoring those who significantly contributed to the history of sports in Kansas and to educate and inspire the public regarding the value of athletics and Kansas athletic history by providing the requisite leadership and resources.” Highlights of the KSHOF include plaques of 280 honored inductees, the Jayhawk racing yacht, exhibits that feature many Kansas colleges and universities, the Kansas High School Gallery of Champions, and the ever-growing Olympic collection. The KSHOF is free to the general public and is completely funded privately through fundraising efforts.
