Dalla Stazione Tiburtina di Roma partono bus della Marozzi a corsa giornaliera per la Penisola Sorrentina. La SITA effettua corse giornaliere per Amalfi, S. Agata sui due Golfi e Massa Lubrense (effettuando tutte le fermate intermedie nei comuni che si incontrano durante il tragitto) con partenza circa ogni mezz'ora dalla Stazione Ferroviaria di Sorrento. IN TRENO. Dalla stazione di Napoli Centrale Piazza Garibaldi delle Ferrovie dello Stato, dove arrivano treni dalle principali città d'Italia, partono i treni locali della Circumvesuviana che effettuano servizio giornaliero con cadenza di ogni 30 minuti circa per Sorrento. IN AEREO. Dall'area "ARRIVI" dell'aeroporto Capodichino di Napoli, un servizio di autobus della ditta Curreri effettua collegamenti giornalieri per la Penisola Sorrentina. Bus, taxi e navette effettuano inoltre collegamenti dall'aeroporto alla stazione della Circumvesuviana di Napoli. VIA MARE. Dal molo Beverello di Napoli (nei pressi di Piazza Municipio) partono traghetti e aliscafi per Sorrento. L'approdo è al porto di Sorrento che dista circa 500 metri dal centro e un servizio di navetta effettua collegamenti con la piazza principale.     The politicization of ill bodies in Campania, Italy Ilenia Iengo1 Marco Armiero Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden Abstract The communities affected by toxic contamination in Campania, Italy, have had to confront the challenge of proving a direct causal connection between exposure to pollutants and health issues, given a long history of mismanagement of waste. Medical studies have been conducted, but the social and political debate is static. In September 2014, the Italian Ministry of Health simply repeated earlier statements that Campania's increasing cancer rates are due to poor lifestyle habits. The article casts light on the politicization of ill bodies of Campania. We analyze three practices of political action and resistance which employed the subjectivization of physical bodies and illnesses to expose environmental injustice affecting communities. In the neighborhood of Pianura, Naples, people gathered medical records as evidence for a trial into 'culpable epidemics.' In the so-called Land of Fires, in the northern periphery of Naples, hundreds of postcards featuring pictures of children killed by rare pathologies were sent to the Italian Head of State and the Pope. Finally, in the town of Acerra, the blood of a dying shepherd became a political object to prove exposure to dioxin contamination in that area. The politicization of illness and bodies conflates the public and private, challenges the mainstream production of knowledge, and proposes an alternative narrative for affected communities and individuals. Nevertheless, the practices of this politicization have differed and are not always 'political', as we will show through the three cases. L’obiettivo è promuovere un dibattito informato sulla condizione dei minori in Italia, a partire dalle opportunità educative, culturali e sociali offerte, ed aiutare il decisore attraverso l'elaborazione di analisi e approfondimenti originali. Il nostro principale contributo vuole essere la creazione di una banca dati che consenta l'analisi di questi fenomeni su scala comunale o sub-comunale. Attualmente infatti la trattazione della povertà educativa avviene soprattutto utilizzando indicatori nazionali o al massimo regionali, anche per la carenza di dati aggiornati a livello locale. Per fare questo abbiamo identificato e aggregato in un'unica infrastruttura informatica diverse basi di dati comunali rilasciate da una molteplicità fonti ufficiali, con tempi e formati disomogenei. A partire da questa base dati, elaboriamo contenuti periodici, come report e contenuti di data journalism. Inoltre rilasciamo in formato aperto i dati raccolti, sistematizzati e liberati per produrre le analisi dell'osservatorio, con l'obiettivo di stimolare un'informazione basata sui dati. E-mail: [email protected] Toumeyella parvicornis (Cockerell), the Pine tortoise scale, is reported for the first time from Europe. Pre-imaginal instars and adults were observed starting from the fall of 2014 in several municipalities of Campania (Italy). Since the species is recorded as a harmful pest of several pine species in North America and the Caribbean, the presence of this alien insect in Europe is alarming and represents a possible major threat for native pine species and related economic activities. Scale insects are one of the most commonly transported groups of insects in plant trade and at the same time are one of the most successful invasive groups of insects (Pellizzari et al., 2005; Malumphy et al., 2012). Here we report the occurrence of Toumeyella parvicornis (Cockerell), the Pine tortoise scale, in southern Italy infesting Pinus pinea L. in urban environments. Italy is one of the most invaded of European countries by alien insects (Inghilesi et al., 2013) and this new record updates the list of the established Coccoidea in the country to 50 species (Mazzeo et al., 2014).

    The Waste Crisis in Campania, Italy By Lucie Greyl, Sara Vegni, Maddalena Natalicchio, Salima Cure and Jessica Ferretti for A Sud ABSTRACT From 1994 to early 2008, the region of Campania in south-west Italy existed under a formal State of Emergency, declared due to the saturation of regional waste treatment facilities. There is growing evidence, including a World Health Organisation (WHO) study of the region, that the accumulation of waste, illegal and legal, urban and industrial, has contaminated soil, water, and the air with a range of toxic pollutants including dioxins. A high correlation between incidences of cancer, respiratory illnesses, and genetic malformations and the presence of industrial and toxic waste landfills was also found. The Government has been unable to resolve this crisis, adopting measures that have only increased public unrest, exacerbating the conflict. Local communities continue to organise and protest, risking arrest in order to be heard by a Government that has so far excluded them from decision- making processes. Meanwhile the management of waste has worsened: from the failure to separate dry from wet waste and the resultant inability to produce compost (necessary for the regeneration of contaminated land) to the continued production of the inaccurately named “ecoballs” that have continued to accumulate due to delays in the construction of incinerators. These delays have necessitated the creation of new stocking areas, the re-opening of old landfills and the creation of new ones. Although Illegal waste management is currently one of the most urgent environmental issues in Italy, public opinion and the media remain silent on the matter.

Slaybaugh † Abstract: The illegal dumping and burning of waste and toxic waste in southern Italy has caused such immense environmental damage that the disaster is now known as “Italy’s Chernobyl”. In early 2014, the Italian Senate passed the Land of Fires Decree, a sweeping new law aimed at solving a problem that Italy has historically failed to adequately address. Despite the broad grants of power and the new crime created, the lack of political will renders these new tools useless and means little will likely change. Italy can no longer put this fire out by itself.
