Records of a mill in Eashing date from the Domesday Book and it has been used to produce flour, paper and flock, then became the home of a local engineering company, before the site was finally redeveloped in 1998 as offices. The National Trust river bridge at Eashing is believed to have been built by the monks of Waverley Abbey in the 13th Century. The popular Stag on the River pub is close by. Eashing enjoys a particularly convenient situation, having ready access to the A3 between London and the South Coast, and via the M25 at Wisley, also links to Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Local facilities include a wonderful garage with shop in Lower Eashing, and an excellent farm shop at Milford, less than a mile away. A greater choice of shopping, banks, and restaurants is available at Godalming, whilst Guildford offers a full range of High Street outlets, in addition to leisure, sporting and cultural amenities. There are also main line stations at Godalming (46 mins to Waterloo) and Guildford (35 mins to Waterloo) offering fast and frequent services to London and Portsmouth. Guildford is also on the main line from Gatwick to Reading, with connections to the West Country. On Mondays 17 & 24 May 2021 from 5.00-6.15pm, we are running a Children’s Business Fair Entrepreneur Mini-Course available to students in any year and most suitable for pupils in Years 7 to 8. The second session follows-on from the activities in the first session, so attendance at both sessions is highly desirable. This opportunity is free of charge. Convent shrine & garden, lakes, meadows, hill and beauty spot In Brief This is a lovely picnic walk, best in the warmer months when the spring and summer flowers are on show. At the middle point, there is an exhilarating short climb to the top of Hydon's Ball. There are only two stiles on this walk, both dog friendly. There are one or two patches of nettles so shorts might be inadvisable. In wetter conditions, there are a few muddy sections, but mostly avoidable. The walk begins in Ashtead Lane on the outskirts of Godalming Surrey, postcode GU7 1SX . It can also be reached by train via Godalming station , with an extra short hop each way. Both towns have excellent shopping, recreational and educational facilities and fast commuter rail services to London Waterloo, with journey times from about 35 minutes and 28 minutes respectively.

    Waverley Federation Special Options Booklet 2019- 2021 Working Together to Raise Achievement Dear Student, Waverley Federation This prospectus gives information about the courses offered by the Waverley Federation as part of your options choice. All of these courses take place on Tuesdays throughout years 10 and 11. It also explains the application procedures and expectations to which you would need to agree should you be successful in your application. A good education is the key to better life chances, equipping you with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to succeed in further learning, work, and opening the door to greater prosperity and wider opportunities. As a federation we are working collaboratively with our partner schools and colleges to give you a greater breadth and choice of subjects to study in order that you can design a personalised curriculum which motivates, interests and challenges you. These Special Options are equivalent to GCSE but are taught and assessed in a different way and enable you to study in a more adult environment at a college or specialist training centre. You should take time to consider what options will best suit you, listening to advice from your teachers and researching the possibilities carefully. The number of places available on each course is limited and the application and interview processes are competitive.
