Myers Stadium for the Texas Invitational on Friday and Saturday. INDOOR December 9 Clemson Opener 4 wins Action is set to begin at 10 a.m. each day with Day 1 featuring a number of field events early on and a series of distance events to close the evening. Saturday will see another elite competition that will feature world in- January door record holder of France and three other world-class vaulters from France. Half of 11:00 a.m.______Pole Vault Section A (w) Houston’s NCAA champion 4x100m relay team is in the race and K-State’s Terrell Smith gives the 200m a trio of All-Americans 12:00 p.m.______High Jump (m) 1:30 p.m.______Discus (w) running along with 3 more post-collegiate athletes in the field. ______Triple Jump (w/m) ______Pole Vault Section A (m) • Bruckner broke the school record in the hammer throw on her first attempt with a mark of 56.21m (184-5). That 2:00 p.m.______High Jump (w) mark surpassed teammate Lauryn Caldwell’s mark of 55.42m. RUNNING EVENTS • After her 3 attempts in Flight 1, Bruckner ran across campus to take a test in her Psychology of Advertising class 10:00 a.m.______5000m (w/m) while still wearing her uniform. She then hustled back to the track in time to take her final 2 throws in the finals. 11:45 a.m.______4x100m Relay (w/m) • She finished the meet in 7th place and later tweeted that she made a 96 on her test. 12:00 p.m.______800m (w/m) 12:25 p.m.______100m Hurdles (w) 12:35 p.m.______110m Hurdles (m) Lloyd Shatters Steeplechase Record 12:55 p.m.______400m (w/m) • Junior Meghan Lloyd shattered her own school record in the 3000m steeplechase to open her 2018 outdoor 1:15 p.m.______100m (w/m) season. She shaved more than 7 seconds off her time to finish 2nd at the Texas Relays, clocking in at 10:13.35. 1:45 p.m.______400m Hurdles (w/m) • Lloyd’s time ranks her No. 2 in the Big 12 Conference this year and 13 in the NCAA. 2:25 p.m.______3000m (w/m) • She held the lead for much of the race but was unable to hold off Clemson’s Logan Morris to finish runner-up a 2:55 p.m.______4x400m Relay (w/m) second straight year at Texas Relays. • Lloyd was not alone for Texas in registering solid marks in the steeplechase. Sophomore Abby Guidry made her career debut in the steeplechase and came in 3rd place with a time of 10:35.34. That time ranks her 3rd in school history and 5th in the Big 12 this season. • Redshirt freshman Skyler Bollinger also clocked in with a Texas top 10 time at 10:56.05. She finished 7th, which also is her rank in school history. Bollinger has previous steeplechase experience having ran and won a 2000m steeplechase last year unattached at the Longhorn Invitational.

Rice Wins Opener • Redshirt sophomore John Rice dominated the field in his season opener to win the steeplechase at the Texas Relays. His time of 8:46.52 bested the competition by nearly 10 full seconds and cut 11 seconds off his previous personal best time. • He currently sits at No. 8 in the NCAA this season and leads the Big 12 Conference. His time ranks him as the No. 9 Longhorn in school history.

DMR Pulls Away in Dramatic Win • The men’s team of Sam Worley, Andrew Price, Logan Emery and Alex Rogers put together an impressive victory at the Texas Relays with a time of 9:43.99. • The Longhorns led throughout much of the race before Rogers let the anchor leg from Texas A&M take the lead. Then with 300m to go, Rogers kicked it in gear, leaving the Aggies behind at the finish line. • It marked the first time since 2013 the Longhorns won the DMR at their biggest home meet of the year.

Piperi Claims Victory in Outdoor Debut • Fresh off a 7th place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships, freshman Tripp Piperi grabbed his first win of the outdoor season in the at the Texas Relays.

Longhorns Sweep Multi-Events Indoor Postseason Awards Men’s Coach of the Year: Wes Kittley, Texas Tech • Ashtin Zamzow made history for the Longhorns becoming the first woman to win a Big 12 title in the pentathlon. Women’s Coach of the Year: Stanley Redwine, Kansas • Her score of 4,076 points also set a new school record for Texas. Men’s Performer of the Year: Hussain Al Hizam, Kansas • Zamzow was in a battle with Texas Tech’s Kaylee Hinton throughout the competition and it came down to the Men’s Freshman of the Year: Divine Oduduru, Texas Tech narrowest of margins as she defeated Hinton by just 1 point. Women’s Performer of the Year: Sharon Lokedi, Kansas • Going into the final event, Zamzow needed to make sure Hinton did not finish more than half a second ahead of Women’s Freshman of the Year: Morgan Stewart, Baylor her in the 800m. The both came to the line together with Hinton just edging Zamzow, but the Longhorn dove for the Outdoor finish line and clocked 2:18.02 and was .44 behind Hinton’s 2:17.58. Men • It marked only the 2nd time in Big 12 history the pentathlon was decided by single digits. Women’s Performer of the Year: • Texas closed the first night of competition with a dominant win in the Distance Medley Relay. The team of Alex Women’s Freshman of the Year: Rogers, Terry Brown Jr., Logan Emery and Sam Worley combined to run 9:40.11 after a strong opening leg from Rogers gave Texas a huge lead. • The win marked the first for Texas since 2009 in the men’s DMR. • Texas earned another conference title in a distance event with Rogers running away from the field in the mile. He clocked 4:02.60 to win by more than 3 seconds and claim UT’s first mile championship since 2008. • The Longhorns added valuable points in the 800m with Worley finishing 3rd. Emery joined Rogers in the final of the mile and finished fifth to make it 14 points in that event.Jake McConnell took 6th in the 1000m. The pair of John Rice and Charles Mills combined for 7 points in the 5000m and Rice added 5 more points in the 3000m.
