Designing for Accessibility Adoption Statement BRACKNELL FOREST BOROUGH COUNCIL LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK DESIGNING FOR ACCESSIBILITY IN BRACKNELL FOREST ADOPTION STATEMENT Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 Town and Country Planning (Local Development)(England) Regulations 2004 On the 20 June 2006 the Borough Council formally adopted the Bracknell Forest Borough Council Local Development Framework Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) Designing for Accessibility in Bracknell Forest. Designing for Accessibility in Bracknell Forest advises professionals involved in the development of the built environment, or service providers, as to how they can achieve accessibility for all and meet standards of best practice. The production of a SPD on access issues identified in the approved Bracknell Forest Local Development Scheme informs compliance with planning policies contained within the Bracknell Forest Borough Local Plan and subsequent Development Plan Documents. The document will also clarify standards required in relation to accessibility and provide an invaluable interpretation of policy for developers and Borough Council Members and officers. The Kebab van was a problem, Phil Burke had taken this issue as far as possible but it was unsure why the van was allowed to park on a cycle path. A cycle map for the area included a red route and a blue route. A survey undertaken on the red route found that the number of people using the red route had increased by 58%. Work could be undertaken with Phil Burke, and possibly schools in the area, to establish a contact group regarding anti-social behaviour issues. Schools had their own cycling proficiency scheme. There was no direct cycle path into Easthampstead Park School and some dangerous roads for children to cross.
