TODAY IS COLLEGE STUDENT SUNDAY : Today we will be taking a special collection at the end of Divine Liturgy to help support the work of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) which ministers to the needs of Orthodox college students throughout the country (see www.ocf.org ). Christ the Saviour Orthodox Book Club : Fr. Stephen and M. Anna will host the first meeting next Sunday September 28 th at 6pm. Please bring your copy of “Thirsting for God in a Land of Shallow Wells” as well as any comments or favorite quotes from your reading. Please bring book suggestions for future studies, we will also ask for volunteers to host future meetings at their home. CREDO Quartet (St. Petersburg, RUSSIA) will be performing at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle at 3pm next Sunday, Sept 28 th , to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Please see flyer. IOCC Flood Victim Health Kits: Please bring supplies for International Orthodox Christian Charities Emergency Health Kits with you to church over the next few weeks. When we have collected enough, our Church School children will assemble the kits as part of a service project. Please see (www.iocc.org/emergencykits.aspx ) for more info. The recommended items for each kit are : 1 hand towel, 1 washcloth, 1 comb, 1 metal nail file or nail clipper, 1 bar of soap (bath size), 1 toothbrush, and 6 Band-Aids. Other News Fellowship Hour Schedule: Parishioners are asked to help by bringing at least 48 servings of baked goods and to serve them during their assigned fellowship hour. Please check the dates below and mark your calendar accordingly. The complete list through next May 2009 is available at the parish hall. Parishioner “Racing” to Help Find a Cure for Leukemia: Our very own parishioner Katharine Newhouse is going to be embarking on a 100 mile bicycle race in November 2008 as part of a fund raising campaign of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Those interested in going should contact M. Anna Vernak at 652-1825 or sign-up in the vestibule. Car-pooling and other details will be worked out once we find out who is interested in going. * Sun, OCT 5: 18 th Annual Chinese Auction - Time is fast approaching! Please remember to bring your donations to church. Any non-perishable item with a value over $5 is welcome. Items can be of almost any type - games, books, case of beer or soda, kitchen items, personal items like bath gel and a sponge, jewelry, tools, gardening tools, gift cards, money, etc. Check with local businesses. We have letters in the office that you can pick up - Giant Foods for example will give a gift card at each of their stores. Other stores may do the same. Bring the items to the church basement. If you have gift cards or money, drop them off at the office. Any questions - check with Lydia Mantle (329-8061) or Alice Mallick (939-4154).
