It goes on the people that can least aff ord it. He knew the power to jack up the price of electricity and gasoline and things that people have to have. It’s the poor that get hurt. Due to his beliefs Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi fi red him as committee chairman and appointed Henry Waxman. Henry Waxman told Republicans “not only do we not want your input, we do not want your vote.” This is NOT your Grandfather’s Democrat Party: 1. Previous Democrat congressmen would look to develop bipartisan legislation. Today it is about a radical agenda. 2. There is a diff erence between Liberals and Progressives. Dennis Prager noted that many Liberals can work with Conservatives because they are honest and love America. Democratic Socialism (Socialism and Communism) claims to believe that everyone is supposed to share and share alike. Ultimately, there ends up being two classes, the elite and the poor. There is no middle class. Ultimately, everyone gives up their liberty and their rights. It is like 1984 and it is here now. 4. Democrats under the Obama administration started the move toward socialism. It was also the first time in American history where 95 percent of the income went to the top 1 percent of income earners. It is like Animal Farm and 1984 and it is coming here now. 5. They talked about being for the middle class, but the middle class shrunk. 6. There were more poor people on government assistance than ever before, while the top 1% took a larger share of overall income. Obama admitted this in 2013. That never happened under a Republican. 7. Progressives have their own agenda. It will not stop with democratic socialism. It is a progressive dream with the elite ruling the masses. The New Green Deal is a tool to radically change America. page 4 Louie Gohmert PART 2 EP27 [Economic patriot score: 75) What is really happening with Climate change and Global Green movements: • In the U.S. we are making progress with the environment. The air and water are cleaner. While not confi rmed, it has been said the U.S. is the only country achieving the The Paris Climate Accord standards even though we pulled out of that bad deal while the counties that stayed in are failing to meet the standard. • Liberals don’t seem to understand that if you hurt the economy then you are going to hurt the environment. It’s only a thriving economy in which people are able to care about the environment. • When you don’t have a job, when your kids are not getting enough to eat, you may be concerned about the environment, but it’s not your priority. People are just trying to live, eat, and have shelter. • Look at what the Third World and emerging nations do. They say we’ve got to worry about feeding their people and cannot aff ord to directly combat climate change. The result? They are exempted from the initiatives and the U.S. carries the weight. China uses that against the U.S. even though China has the world’s second largest economy (and some say largest). page 5 Louie Gohmert PART 2 EP27 [Economic patriot score: 75) If they’re really concerned about the environment, the best thing Congress can do is help President Trump get this economy going even stronger. The Paris Climate Accord – Democrats and Leftists were complaining that we didn’t sign on to the Paris Climate Accord. • The countries that did agree to the Paris Climate accord pressured the United States to stay in it and blamed us for any failure. • The U.S. is the only country that pays nearly every other country in the world for some kind of guilt that they think we should have (even though the U.S. has made the world a better place). • Regardless of the checks we send from the U.S., we still have to breathe the toxic air coming from China and India floating this way. Things are not going to improve if those countries are always exempt from the climate restrictions they force on us. “You don’t have to pay people to hate you, they’ll do it for free. U.S. Debt, Spending, and The Wall We have a 22-trillion dollar debt and it is growing rapidly even under Trump. At the same time we are taxing, and have a greater tax revenues than ever before. The only way to grow out of our current debt is to cut spending and increase revenue. Medicare for all, free college, and open borders will bankrupt America and we are already headed down the path of unsustainable debt. The one spending Congress does not like is building a wall to defend our nation, but everything else is fair game. The Wall is one key spending initiative that is needed for both the U.S. and Mexico. • The cost of a wall or barrier is minimal compared to the tax dollars needed to support of illegal immigration and potential loss of job opportunities for Americans. • Tens of billions of dollars are going to drug cartels every year. Drugs are estimated to be $80 billion a year, and that does not count sex and human traff icking that is connected to the drug trade. page 7 Louie Gohmert PART 2 EP27 [Economic patriot score: 75) • A wall would cut the drug cartel’s money supply from the U.S. • Mexico should be one of the top 10 economies in the world, as they have more natural resource than most countries. They have hard working people and a great location. Geographically, Mexico is actually better positioned than North America, because it is between two continents and then two oceans. • Corruption is the only thing holding Mexico back. The best thing we could do for the Mexican people and those in Central America is dry up the money from the drug cartels. Not an easy solution, but the wall would help in a big way. Almost Everybody in Congress supported the wall at one time. page 8 Louie Gohmert PART 2 EP27 [Economic patriot score: 75) “There was I believe $8 Billion provided to Homeland Security for a virtual wall under the previous administration and Janet Napolitano. The caveat was that if Homeland Security found that a virtual wall did not work, she did not have to use the money for it. Now the Democrats say we do not need a wall or barrier, we just need high tech drones. Their own Secretary of Homeland Security said it is not going to work. We should have built a barrier or a wall.
