 2006-07 Academic Calendar Nebraska Athletics: A Year in Review University of Nebraska 2006-07 Student-Athlete Handbook University of Nebraska 2006-07 Student-Athlete Handbook Second Semester The University of Nebraska takes great pride in its success across all 23 of its varsity sports. In 2005-06, the Huskers continued their rise across the board among national programs, as 15 of Nebraska’s 23 varsity sports finished the year ranked among the top 25 teams in the country. The Nebraska volleyball team enjoyed the greatest success of the Husker programs, advancing to the NCAA title match for the fifth time in school history after laying claim to the Big 12 Conference title. Individually, 33 Nebraska student-athletes captured 38 All-America awards in their respective sports, including NCAA indoor and outdoor long jump national champion Arturs Abolins, NCAA air rifle national champion Kristina Fehlings, American Volleyball Coaches National Player-of-the-Year Christina Houghtelling, and National Tenpin Coaches Player-of-the-Year Lindsay Baker. Graduation Nebraska student-athletes continue to raise the bar and graduate at a higher rate than the general student population. Nebraska student-athletes post an outstanding exhausted eligibility rate of 93 percent, which leads the Big 12 Conference.
