Azteca America Launches its La Academia USA Reality Show With Live Concert Nov. 20 Camino a la Fama Weekday Update Begins on Nov. 7 FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION Los Angeles, Nov. 3, 2005 – Nostromo América is producing for Azteca America the hit musical reality show La Academia USA, one of the largest programming iniciatives to date for the fastest-growing Hispanic network of the United States. During an event held on Nov. 2 at the Museum of Radio and Television in Beverly Hills, the program was presented by Jorge Jaidar, COO of Azteca America; Giorgio Aresu, producer of La Academia USA and President of Nostromo América, as well as Alan Tacher, host of La Academia USA and partner of Nostromo América. “We’re here because our audience has demanded it,” said Jorge Jaidar. “Los Angeles has always been the center of the strongest participation of La Academia. More than 5,000 people participated in our nationwide casting call and we expect the communities that brought us such personalities as Rosalia from the first generation, and Johanna and Yuridia during the fourth generation, to continue providing exceptional young talent.” Luis J. Echarte, Presidente and CEO of Azteca America said he has high expectations for the program. “This is a great project for Azteca America, which will allow us to continue growing with success,” said Mr. Echarte. Giorgio Aresu added that the level of talent of the finalists surpasses prior Mexico versions of La Academia. “We have talent here that hasn’t been seen in four prior generations of La Academia,” said Mr. Aresu. As of today, 31 contestants have been selected to enter the La Academia high-perfromance training campus, this Saturday, Nov. 5. The participants will undergo evaluations by a psychologists and the top-notch instructors of La Academia USA. The evaluation process can be followed by television viewers on Camino a la Fama beginning Monday, Nov. 7 at 8 pm. On Sunday, Nov. 13 at 7 pm, Azteca America will present a special program where instructors will determine the 13 participants that will exit the La Academia campus, and present the 18 finalists that will remain on the show. We will continue with Camino a la Fama, where viewers can share the efforts of this magnificent group as they prepare for their first concert, which will be held live on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 7 pm on Azteca America TV-55 Fresno, TV-8 Visalia, TV-42 Bakersfield, DirecTV-55 and Comcast-77.
