ISPA 2015 Pitch New Works Program Guidelines & Application Information International Society for the Performing Arts www.ispa.org PITCH NEW WORKS APPLICATION GUIDELINES Thank you for your interest in applying to ISPA’s Pitch New Works Program. Please read the guidelines and application information below before submitting your application. Now let’s get started! OVERVIEW About Pitch New Works Developed from a program which originated at the Banff Film and Television Festival in Alberta, Canada, Pitch New Works provides a forum for creators and arts professionals to share and discover new performing arts projects. Select presenters have the opportunity to "pitch” their new work to more than 400 delegates from 50 countries. Selected applicants have seven minutes to present their new work and three minutes following to answer questions. After the session, participants have the opportunity to interact with delegates during ISPA’s informal networking session; ProEx (Professional Exchange). Past Presenters Past presenters in Pitch New Works have included new works from many of the world’s leading dance, music, and theater artists including (but not limited to): AsiaNow and Noreum Machi (South Korea), Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, SITI Company, and Mark Morris Dance Group (United States), Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Imogen Heap, and Siobhan Davies Dance Company (Great Britain), Chinese Music Virtuosi (Hong Kong), Chunky Move, and Force Majeure (Australia), Soundstreams, Tafelmusik and Toronto Dance Theatre (Canada), Emio Greco/PC (Netherlands), Farm in the Cave (Czech Republic), Opera Africa and Farber Foundry (South Africa), Tao Dance Theater (China), T’Ang Quartet (Singapore), Brussels Jazz Orchestra and Ultima Vez (Belgium). Who should apply? New multidisciplinary and/or cross-cultural projects are particularly attractive to ISPA delegates, though all project types and applications will be considered. What does ISPA consider to be a "new" work? Prospective projects must meet one of the two criteria: 1. In development with a premiere planned within the next two years OR 2. Recently premiered but has not yet toured outside its region of origin Please note, submissions from the canon and/or remounts will be considered where there is evidence of a substantially new interpretation and a new production team. Applicants do not need to be ISPA members. ISPA welcomes all eligible applications. Pitch Presenters If selected to participate in Pitch New Works, your project will need up to two presenters to “pitch” the project to ISPA delegates. It is strongly recommended that at least one of the two pitch presenters be a lead artist involved in the project. Language: Please submit/present all materials in English. Terms and Conditions In the event your project is selected to be presented at Pitch New Works in January 2015, you will agree to and give your consent to the following terms and conditions: The pitch presenter(s) must: 1 a.
