Terrestrial Snail Fauna in the Some§/Szamos' River Valley from the Spring Region to the Inflow Into the River Tisza
Terrestrial snail fauna in the Some§/Szamos' River Valley from the spring region to the inflow into the river Tisza Károly Bába and Andrei Sárkány-Kiss Abstract The sampling sites included montane and lowland riparian plant communities of early or advanced successional stages as well as forests of hilly region, which often extend.to riverbanks. The plant communities differ from each other by the composition of their snail assemblages, as it is proved by the results of cluster and principal component analyses. It was concluded, that ubiquitous and continental species {Bradybaena, Deroceras rodnae, Succinea putris, Helix lutescens) dominate among snails transported by the Somej/Szanios over long distances. Species of narrow ecological tolerance range can be found in the riparian vegetation of the Somej/Szamos Valley and also of minor watercourses arriving from neighbouring hills and mountains. The fauna dispersal from the spring region is hampered by water reservoirs, shrinkage of forest habitats to single row of trees along the river and the lack of riparian gallery forests in the flood area. The biotopes are subjected to the strongest human impact resulted from the forest management, or logging the flood plain into agricultural fields. The garbage disposal in/or near the riparian vegetation also cause major disturbances for the snail assemblages. Keywords: Gastropoda, human impact, Some$/Szamos River Valley Introduction A scientific expedition was organised in the valley of river Some$/Szamos between 1-18. 06. 1992 with the aim of assessing the current biotic status of the river. During the field investigations special attention was paid to the influence of human activities on the microflora and invertebrate fauna of the river, and on its natural self-purification. -

Magyarország Recens Puhatestűinek Revideált Katalógusa (Mollusca)
Fol. Hist.-nat. Mus. Matr. 9. 1984. Magyarország recens puhatestűinek revideált katalógusa (Mollusca) PINTÉR László Budapest ABSTRACT: (A revised catalogue of the recent molluscs of Hungary) — This catalo gue contains a revised list of recent molluscs living in Hungary, included also the in troduced species and the drift-fauna. Tíz évvel ezelőtt jelent meg a „Katalog der rezenten Mollusken Un garns" (PINTÉR, 1974) című munka. A zoológiában 10 év igen nagy idő: számtalan új eredmény született, s a régit sok esetben új szempontok és felismerések szerint értékeltük át. Ezeknek az elmúlt éveknek a magyaror szági recens malakofaunára vonatkozó eredményeit (mégha sokszor csak részeredmények is) tükrözi a következő összeállítás. A fajlistában csillag (*) jelzi a kizárólag melegházakban vagy botanikus kertekben élő fajokat, s kereszt ( + ) jelöli a csupán folyóhordalékból előkerült fajokat. A fajlistát megjegyzések (1—43) egészítik ki. Az irodalomjegyzék csak azokat a mű veket tartalmazza, melyekre a szövegben közvetlen utalás található. A Malaco-Faunistical Study of Salaj County/Szilágyság, Romania with Taxonomical Notes

In the framework of the research program of the Hungarian Natural History Museum ”Invertebrate faunistical investigation of Sălaj county”, numerous molluscs (87 species) were collected in 2014-2015. Compared to other parts of the Carpathians, the mollusc fauna of Sălaj county is relatively poor - after this investigations this number is increased to 114 species - considering either the total species richness or the number of taxa. In the list I enumerate the results of recent collections, adding and also comparing with the results by Domokos and Lennert, 2009 in connection the area of judetul Sălaj /Szilágyság. From faunistical and conservation point the most important results are species of Acicula perpusilla, Agardhiella lamellosa, Drobacia banatica, Unio crassus, Vertigo angustior, Vertigo moulinsiana and Vertigo substriata. thing worth mentioning. The most important outcome of this study was the discovery of a new Bythinella species: Bythinella gregoi GLÖER & ERŐSS and Alzoniella (?) species which is a new species and genus for Romania. The other important finding a very big empty shell of Mastus bielzi which could be a new subspecies. These recent researches made a result rare or new endemic species, it pays attention that the well-known, but not so deeply researched areas can be faunistical or scientific surprised. Keywords: Mollusca, Romania, Sălaj, Faunistics, Bythinella, Alzoniella, Mastus, Carpathian INTRODUCTION: framework of this program, there was a good Sălaj county is situated in the north-west of the opportunity to summarize these few literature data. -

9 Mitt. dtsch. malakozool. Ges. 86 9 – 12 Frankfurt a. M., Dezember 2011 Under Threat: The Stability of Authorships of Taxonomic Names in Malacology RUUD A. BANK Abstract: Nomenclature must be constructed in accordance with agreed rules. The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature was founded in Leiden in September 1895. It not only produced a Code of nomencla- ture, that was refined over the years, but also provided arbitration and advice service, all with the aim of ensur- ing that every animal has one unique and universally accepted name. Name changes reduce the efficiency of biological nomenclature as a reference system. The Code was established to precisely specify the circumstances under which a name must be changed, and in what way. Name changes are only permitted if it is necessitated by a correction of nomenclatural error, by a change in classification, or by a correction of a past misidentification. Also authorships are regulated by the Code, mainly by Article 50. In a recent paper by WELTER-SCHULTES this Article is interpreted in a way that is different from previous interpretations by the zoological (malacological) community, leading to major changes in authorships. It is here argued that his alternative interpretations (1) are not in line with the spirit of the Code, and (2) will not serve the stability of nomenclature. It is important that interpretation and application of the existing rules be objective, consistent, and clear. Keywords: authorships, malacology, nomenclature, Code, ICZN, Article 50, Pisidium Zusammenfassung: In der Nomenklatur müssen übereinstimmende Regeln gelten. Of Strandzha Mountains and the Black Sea Coast
Historia naturalis bulgarica, 21: 13-48, 2015 Terrestrial gastropods (Mollusca, Gastropoda) of Strandzha Mountain and the Black Sea coast (Bulgaria and Turkey) Atanas Irikov, Ivelin Mollov Abstract: The current synopsis presents an overview of the terrestrial malacofauna of Strandzha Mountain in Bulgaria and Turkey, based on previously published and new data. As a result of the research we recorded 101 species and subspecies of ter- restrial molluscs belonging to 27 families. The data on the terrestrial malacofauna from the Turkish part of Strandzha is entirely new and presented here for the first time. The synopsis includes a list of synonymous species and subspecies concerning the area of research, all known localities, new localities reported for 50 taxa, systematic and environmental data. For the first time a zoogeographical and conservation analysis of the terrestrial snails is made. Key words: terrestrial gastropods, snails, slugs, Strandzha Mountain, Bulgaria, Turkey.
