This along with the backing of the hugely successful brand, McLaren Group, always guarantees a level of quality synonymous with the company‟s unbeatable standard of service. LYNDY REDDING Lyndy Redding, born in Yorkshire, began her career training as a chef at the prestigious Tante Marie School of Cookery in Surrey with a dream of one day having a successful catering business. On graduation Lyndy began working around the world as a private chef, at privately owned ski chalets, a chateau in the South of France, shooting lodges in Scotland and on a luxury yacht in the Seychelles. She returned to London and began to work at a small, privately owned catering business, which further inspired her business dream. Cooking for the Directors Dining room at leading ad agency, BSB Dorland followed before moving into motor racing. Working for a catering company she cooked her way around the world travelling with the team to all the F1 races and some Moto GP‟s for Marlboro. During this period she began making her dream of having her own business a reality and would prepare food in the evenings from her tiny flat and dash all over London to cook for clients and friends Having met Ron Dennis, Executive Chairman of McLaren Automotive whilst in the motor racing world the dream came true and together they formed Absolute Taste in 1997 which became part of the McLaren Group. Under Lyndy‟s management the company has grown, she has built a team of over 200 full-time staff around her that is not just professional and capable but enthusiastic, charming and hard working. Lyndy remains as passionate about Absolute Taste and events as she did on day one. The company started by providing the hospitality for Vodafone McLaren Mercedes at the races and tests. The Events team caters for any event all over the world for both private and corporate clients and has become one of London‟s leading catering and event design companies. When McLaren moved to their new Foster designed premises in Surrey, Absolute Taste took over the front of house facilities as well as all of the catering for the staff, partners and VIP guests Lyndy, who lives in London with her husband, son and dog Truffle, is passionate about food and takes every opportunity on her travels to experience a new restaurant or explore a new culinary technique. With a fantastic sense of style Lyndy is inspired by the look, feel and texture of food and especially by contemporary design. • Running Head: Leadership Analysis - Senna 1
Running Head: Leadership Analysis - Senna 1 Ayrton Senna’s pursuit of perfection in Leadership Kris Felstead Foundations of Leadership November 24th, 2012 Leadership Analysis: Senna 2 Senna is a film documentary about Brazilian race car driver Ayrton Senna. The film begins with an overview of his journey from Brazil to Europe and his arrival into Formula 1 in 1984. As the film follows Senna it reveals both his personal and on track challenges and triumphs, culminating in his recognition as a global superstar. It is common to hear race fans describe the drivers as heroes. The notion of what constitutes a hero from an outsider’s perspective can be quite different from the challenges a driver goes through to compete in the sport they love. Furthermore, if one examines the leadership criteria it takes to lead a team to a championship, it becomes clear the driver is doing much more than just piloting the car around a track. The relationship the driver has with his team is a delicate balancing act of focusing on the needs of the team, while balancing the need to attain specific objectives each race weekend. It was in this balancing act that Senna displayed his strongest and weakest moments of leadership and thorough this examination it becomes clear he is an authentic leader in every sense of the word. Emergence of a Leader The first footage you are presented with is Senna driving go-karts when he came from Europe in 1978 to compete in the World Championship. The voice over of Senna describes his feeling of competing at that time as “pure driving, pure racing, there wasn’t any politics to be concerned with, or money to be won, but just real racing” (Senna, 1:14).

  • Mclaren-HONDA BEGINS NEW ERA with MP4-30
McLAREN-HONDA BEGINS NEW ERA WITH MP4-30 #McLarenHonda #MakeHistory McLaren-Honda – the name evokes stirring memories of the past; of Ayrton Senna battling Alain Prost for supremacy; of classic red and white machines dominating for season upon season; of an iconic team writing one of the defining chapters in the motor racing history books. Reuniting such an illustrious partnership brings with it the heavy weight of expectation, but all at McLaren and Honda are working to write a fresh chapter in Formula 1, one that respectfully nods to the past, but boldly looks to the horizon. Today’s reveal of the new McLaren-Honda MP4-30 – McLaren’s first Honda-powered car for 23 years – speaks volumes about the progressive nature of both companies. It is a thoroughly refined evolution of last year’s McLaren, it is the only chassis on the grid to be fitted with Honda’s RA615H Hybrid power unit, and it features an evolved colour scheme that firmly contextualises McLaren’s brand in the 21st century. MP4-30 – new technical DNA in the mix In 2015 McLaren-Honda intends to maintain the momentum it achieved during the second half of 2014, when an intensive technical development programme for the MP4-29 allowed the team to establish a solid position within the chasing pack. Relatively stable technical regulations between seasons have permitted our engineers to evolve some of the newer philosophies explored on last year’s season-ending car while also adding some exciting new technical DNA into the mix. Moreover, our restructured and strengthened engineering departments have gained the conviction to embark on a number of changes of direction.
