S A - E G Friday 12 May, 13:20 - Katy Sexton, former P H 8 World Champion "Sport and Me - Life Behind the Goggles" Each lunch time there will be talks in the DRT or Willis Room, 13:30 Monday 8 May - Depression Mr Williamson talks about living with the effects of depression and the paths he has taken to improve his own personal mental health. He is also passionate about the importance of communication as a means to mitigate these effects and wants to promote discussion about good mental health for us all. Tuesday 9 May - Anxiety and Mindfulness All may look calm on the surface, but beneath the smiles and success is deep-rooted fear of failure and rejection, and an overwhelming sense of anxiety. Talking from personal experience, Ms Hart will explore the effects of anxiety on everyday life and how debilitating it can be if left un-checked. She will explore how to identify anxiety in one’s self and in others, and will consider methods of mindfulness, meditation and yoga (as opposed to medication) as a way to alleviate, control and manage this silent condition. Wednesday 10 May Resilience for Girls (Willis Room) On the surface, girls are thriving. They are enjoying a period of greater equality than ever before, outperforming boys at school and achieving greater success in university admissions and exams. But beneath the surface, many girls are crumbling under the weight of expectation for perfection. In 'Resilience for Girls', Mrs Morgan will present strategies for courage, compassion and imperfection. She will present a call to arms for girls to connect with each other and themselves to find a way to be both strong and flawed and to embrace failure as part of the road to success. Resilience for Boys (DRT) "Rolling with life’s punches and picking yourself back up again." A short talk by Mr Frampton for boys about how to deal with not being happy all the time. Thursday 11 May - School Counsellors
