Join us for an expanded three-day education and networking event focusing on issues relevant to female O&P practitioners. CEU’s will be offered for eligible courses and topics covering career development, technical presentations and a half-day workshop on building your brand as an emerging influencer. The purpose of this event is to bring together a diverse mix of successful women leaders who, by discussing topics that pertain to today’s O&P professional, will educate, inspire and encourage attendees to reflect on their own goals as they strive to advance within their profession.

We will have an open dialogue on business best practices, ways we can promote gender equality and leadership within our businesses, and have an open forum for management-related questions.

Understanding the Current Trends in Audits and Appeals Stephanie Greene - In this session, we will discuss the current trends in Medicare audits, from what is being audited, how standards are being applied, and what providers can do to make sure they get paid! We will review documentation do’s and don’ts, and strategies to win an appeal when the audit doesn’t go your way. 11:00AM New Technologies for Limb Scanning Vicky Mendez - This presentation will demonstrate how to utilize the Össur Custom Solutions App for efficient patient outcomes. Attendees will learn how to capture images of both BK and AK patients using a scanner, and will focus on techniques for using this device to capture harder-to-cast patients. 12:00pm Lunch 1:00pm Using Good Patient/Practitioner Communication: Benefits to Health Care Practitioners Andrea Sherwood - Communication between practitioners and patients is important in clinical practice and has numerous benefits to practitioners. This presentation includes a review of the literature on communication between medical practitioners and patients, highlighting the benefits to practitioners of using good communication. 2:00pm New Developments In Prosthetics María Guðrún Sveinbjörnsdóttir - Maria, one of Össur’s lead designers, will present new technologies developed by Össur and some of the research that went into their designs. 3:15pm Female Leadership: The 7 Secrets of Success and Happiness Kerstin Plehwe - Kerstin Plehwe is one of Europe’s leading experts on leadership and change, and is a bestselling author, TV host and longtime successful entrepreneur. Learn techniques for feedback and how to work with various personality types to facilitate a positive working relationship with your resident. 10:00am Workplace Safety for Women in O&P Carin Ng - What are the environmental and safety hazards that O&P practitioners are exposed to in the workplace? How do these hazards relate to women’s health concerns? Best practices and safety considerations will be discussed, as will ways to recognize hazards and minimize the risk of harm. 11:15am Get Social! Nina Bondre Carin Ng Nina Bondre is a Board Eligible Prosthetist Orthotist who Carin Ng, CPO, studied Biology-Psychology at Calvin works at Dankmeyer Prosthetics & Orthotics in Linthicum, College, Orthotics and Prosthetics at Northwestern MD. She completed her MPO at Northwestern University University, and finished her training with residencies in 2015.
