What they say Serhiy Rebrov, Dynamo Kyiv coach: "Obviously we will have to play differently. We have to consider the mistakes we made in Liverpool. We have to play more aggressively, more confidently. Our task is to win and qualify for the next round. Romelu Lukaku is a key player, but we can't focus only on him. Leighton Baines, who has returned, is important; Luke Garbutt's free-kicks are very dangerous … there are many good players at Everton." Roberto Martínez, Everton manager: "We know it will be a very difficult match. Of course we respect Dynamo, they are a strong team who haven't lost at home [in any competition] this season. But we are ready for them as we are other big clubs in Europe. We haven't come here for a draw – we're proud to represent England in Europe." Previous meetings • The sides met for the first time in UEFA competition on 12 March, Everton recovering from conceding an Oleh Gusev goal to win 2-1. Steven Naismith and Romelu Lukaku got the goals. • Dynamo have won only four of their 23 encounters with English sides. They have lost just one of their last six home games, however, recording three wins during that run. • Everton got the better of FC Metalist Kharkiv over two legs in the first round of the 2007/08 UEFA Cup, their only previous encounter with Ukrainian opposition. Form guide • Dynamo have won their last four European home games – all by margins of two goals or more. • Everton are unbeaten in four games on the road in Europe this season: W2 D2. • This is Dynamo's first round of 16 appearance since 2010/11, when they memorably overcame Everton's Premier League rivals Manchester City FC 2-1 on aggregate en route to a quarter-final exit at the hands of eventual finalists SC Braga. • Everton lost out on penalties to ACF Fiorentina – who are also still involved – in their last round of 16 appearance in 2007/08. They have not reached the closing stages of a UEFA competition since the 1984/85 European Cup Winners' Cup, when they beat SK Rapid Wien 3-1 in the final. Trivia and links • Everton's Romelu Lukaku is the top scorer among the 16 sides left in the UEFA Europa League with seven goals since the start of the group stage. Former FC Salzburg man Alan still leads the way with eight goals, all scored in the group stage before he left to join Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande FC. • Andriy Yarmolenko and Gusev are Dynamo's top scorers in the UEFA Europa League this season with three goals each. • Dynamo's Łukasz Teodorczyk is one of six Polish nationals left in the competition who still have the chance of a homecoming when the UEFA Europa League final takes place in Warsaw on 27 May. • Everton defender Tyias Browning turns 21 on 27 May, the day of the UEFA Europa League final. • Dynamo's Betão could make his 50th UEFA club competition appearance in the Everton game. The coaches • Dynamo boss Serhiy Rebrov formed a deadly attacking partnership with Andriy Shevchenko for the Bilo-Syni, though his goals dried up somewhat after moving abroad. Having retired in 2009, Rebrov took a job with Dynamo's youth team, but became head coach in May 2014 after a successful caretaker spell. • Rebrov played against Everton three times during his spell with Spurs; he scored his first two goals in English football in a 3-2 win against the Toffees on 5 September 2000, but drew a blank in the other games – both draws. • Everton's Spanish manager Roberto Martínez was a midfielder in the English lower leagues with the likes of Wigan Athletic FC and Swansea City AFC, and coached both clubs with notable success, winning the 2012/13 FA Cup with the Latics before being installed at Everton in June 2013. Penalty shoot-outs • Dynamo's record in one UEFA competition penalty shoot-out is W1 L0 (W0 L0 at home): 3-1 v AC Sparta Praha (A), 1998/99 UEFA Champions League second qualifying round • Everton's record in two UEFA competition penalty shoot-outs is W1 L1 (W0 L0 away from home): 4-3 v VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach (H), 1970/71 European Champion Clubs' Cup second round 5 FC Dynamo Kyiv - Everton FC Thursday 19 March 2015 - 19.00CET (20.00 local time) Match press kit NSK Olimpiyskyi, Kyiv 2-4 v ACF Fiorentina (H), 2007/08 UEFA Cup round of 16 6 FC Dynamo Kyiv - Everton FC Thursday 19 March 2015 - 19.00CET (20.00 local time) Match press kit NSK Olimpiyskyi, Kyiv Team facts FC Dynamo Kyiv Formed: 1927 Nickname: Bilo-Syni (White-Blues) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (2): 1975, 1986 • UEFA Super Cup (1): 1975, (1986) Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) National title: 26 (2009) National cup: 19 (2014) Ten-year European record (UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League unless indicated otherwise) 2013/14: round of 32 2012/13: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League group stage) 2011/12: group stage (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) 2010/11: quarter-finals (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2009/10: UEFA Champions League group stage 2008/09: semi-finals (having
