Twice this summer, Russell came to the aid of people in need by performing cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The Hillsboro Police Department's Youth Services Unit and Community Enhancement Team partnered this week to reduce the sale and availability of tobacco to minors. Hillsboro Youth Services Officers and Hillsboro Police Cadets visited 19 local retailers within a half‐mile of schools. Two businesses failed to check identification before selling cigarettes to the minors. Both businesses received a warning and education about the law prohibiting sales of tobacco to minors. Oregon leads the country in tobacco sales to minors and HPD will continue its education and decoy buy campaign. Want to weigh in on the proposed Community Recreation Center on 53rd Avenue?
