    Golden Arm: A Probabilistic Study of Dice Control in Craps Donald R. Smith Robert Scott III Abstract This paper calculates how much control a craps shooter must possess on dice outcomes to eliminate the house advantage. A golden arm is someone who has dice control (or a rhythm roller or dice influencer). There are various strategies for dice control in craps. We discuss several possibilities of dice control that would result in several different mathematical models of control. We do not assert whether dice control is possible or not (there is a lack of published evidence). However, after studying casino-legal methods described by dice-control advocates, we can see only one realistic mathematical model that describes the resulting possible dice control, that in which the four faces on a rotating (horizontal) axis are favored. Miami Ink is the first American reality television series about a tattoo parlor, and the first show completely devoted to tattoos (Hibberd, 2005; Oldenburg, 2005). Miami Inkoriginally ran from 2005 to 2008 (Saraiya, 2014). The show continues to air in syndication worldwide in over 160 countries (Tattoodo, 2015, 2014; Thobo-Carlsen & Chateaubriand, 2014). Relevance for Studying the Topic Research into the growing popularity of tattoos in America has attributed this rise of acceptance to open communication from the tattoo industry and positive media exposure of tattoos (DeMello, 2000; Wyatt, 2003; Yamada, 2009). With these media influences helping advance the popularity of tattoos, it is then relevant to look closely at the first television show dedicated specifically to tattooing. Bam cannot tolerate the pain enough to remain perfectly still, so the brand touches him several times, resulting in multiple images that seem blurry or in motion. Bam’s mother, who usually plays the role of game audience for his antics, balks when she learns that her son has been hurt as well as permanently marked. She asks Dunn why anyone would ever burn a friend. “Cause it was funny,” Dunn answers.1 Jackass mines the body in pain as well as the absurd and the taboo, often dealing with one or more of the body’s abject excretions. Jackass offers no compelling narrative arc or cliffhangers, presenting instead a series of discrete segments that explore variations on the singular eponymous focus of the show: playing the fool.
