BayreutherBayreuther SauriertreffenSauriertreffen TEXTBOOK Sixties Hecy Junold 01. 06. 2010 A HARD DAYS NIGHT It´s been a hard days night And Ive been working like a dog Its been a hard days night I should be sleeping like a log But when I get home to you I find the things that you do Will make me feel alright You know I work all day To get you money to buy you things And its worth it just to hear you say Youre gonna give me everything So why on earth should I moan Cos when I get you alone You know I feel okay When Im home everything seems to be right When Im home feeling you holding me tight All through the night Its been a hard days night And Ive been working like a dog Its been a hard days night I should be sleeping like a log But when I get home to you I find the things that you do Will make me feel alright Cause when I get home to you I find the things that you do Will make me feel alright AND I LOVE HER I GIVE HER ALL MY LOVE THAT´S ALL I DO AND IF YOU SAW MY LOVE YOU´D LOVE HER TOO I LOVE HER SHE GIVES ME EVERYTHING AND TENDERLY THE KISS MY LOVER BRINGS SHE BRINGS TO ME AND I LOVE HER A LOVE LIKE OURS COULD NEVER DIE AS LONG AS I HAVE YOU NEAR ME BRIGHT AS THE STARS THAT SHINE DARK IS THE SKY I KNOW THIS LOVE OF MINE WILL NEVER DIE AND I LOVE HER BRIGHT AS THE STARS THAT SHINE ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT Are you lonesome tonight, do you miss me tonight? Are you sorry we drifted apart? Does your memory stray to a brighter sunny day When I kissed you and called you sweetheart? Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare? Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there? Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again? Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight? I wonder if you're lonesome tonight You know someone said that the world's a stage And each must play a part. Fate had me playing in love you as my sweet heart. Act one was when we met, I loved you at first glance You read your line so cleverly and never missed a cue Then came act two, you seemed to change and you acted strange And why I'll never know. Honey, you lied when you said you loved me And I had no cause to doubt you. But I'd rather go on hearing your lies Than go on living without you. Now the stage is bare and I'm standing there With emptiness all around And if you won't come back to me Then make them bring the curtain down. Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again? Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight? A WHITER SHADE OF PALE We skipped the light fandango And turned cartwheels cross the floor. I was feeling kind of seasick But the crowd called out for more. The room was humming harder And the ceiling flew away When we called out for another drink The waiter brought a tray And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale. She said "There is no reason, And the truth is plain to see," But I wandered through my playing cards And would not let her be One of sixteen vestal virgins Who were leaving for the coast And although my eyes were open They might just just have well been closed. And so it was that later BABY COME BACK This is the first time [unintelligible] today That you have run away I'm asking you for the first time Love me [unintelligible] stay (all right) Hey (all right) Come back Baby, come back There ain't no use in you crying 'Cause I'm more hurt than you I shoulda not been out flirting But now my love is true Ooh (all right) Ooh (OK!) Ooh, yeah Come back Baby, come back Come back, baby, don't you leave me Baby, baby, please don't go Oh, won't you give me a second chance Baby, I love you so (all right) Oh (oh, yeah) Oh [unintelligible] Oh, yeah BAD MOON RISING I see the bad moon a-risin'. I see trouble on the way. I see earthquakes and lightnin'. I see bad times today. Don't go around tonight. Well, it's bound to take your life. There's a bad moon on the rise. I hear hurricanes a-blowin'. I know the end is comin' soon. I feel rivers overflowin'. I hear the voice of rage and ruin. Don't go around tonight. Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. One eye is taken for an eye. Well, don't go around tonight. Don't come around tonight. BE MY BABY The night we met I knew I needed you so and if I had the chance I'd never let you go. So won't you say you love me, I'll make you so proud of me. We'll make 'em turn their heads every place we go. So won't you, please, BE MY BE MY BABY be my little. baby MY ONE AND ONLY BABY Say you'll be my darlin', BE MY BE MY BABY be my baby now. 00:00:00 Music Transition “Switchblade Comb” by Mobius VanChocStraw. A jaunty, jazzy tune reminiscent of the opening theme of a movie. Music continues at a lower volume as April introduces herself and her guest, and then it fades out. 00:00:08 April Wolfe Host Welcome to Switchblade Sisters, where women get together to slice and dice our favorite action and genre films. I’m April Wolfe. Every week, I invite a new female filmmaker on. A writer, director, actor, or producer, and we talk—in depth—about one of their fave genre films. Perhaps one that’s influenced their own work in some small way. And you may already know, but a reminder that we are remote recording now, and I’m recording from my bedroom. So I’m going to warn you right now that you will hear trash trucks, birds, um, a menagerie of cats. It’s all going to be going on in the background. The audio will be a little bit different than the studio’s, but everything else is going to be the same. The only thing different today, however, is our guest, because I’m very excited to have writer-actor Hannah Bos here. Hannah, how are you today? 00:00:51 Hannah Bos Guest I’m okay. I’m a little tired. Pretty good, but pretty pooped. 00:00:54 April Host Oh, hanging in there. 00:00:55 Hannah Guest I’m on uh—got a toddler, so it’s keeping me very busy. 00:01:01 April Host Yeah, as it turns out, toddlers do toddle.

  • August 2012 Newsletter
August 2012 Newsletter ------------------------------------ Yesterday & Today Records P.O.Box 54 Miranda NSW 2228 Phone: (02) 95311710 Email:[email protected] www.yesterdayandtoday.com.au ------------------------------------------------ Postage Australia post is essentially the world’s most expensive service. We aim to break even on postage and will use the best method to minimise costs. One good innovation is the introduction of the “POST PLUS” satchels, which replace the old red satchels and include a tracking number. Available in 3 sizes they are 500 grams ($7.50) 3kgs ($11.50) 5kgs ($14.50) P & P. The latter 2 are perfect for larger interstate packages as anything over 500 grams even is going to cost more than $11.50. We can take a cd out of a case to reduce costs. Basically 1 cd still $2. 2cds $3 and rest as they will fit. Again Australia Post have this ludicrous notion that if a package can fit through a certain slot on a card it goes as a letter whereas if it doesn’t it is classified as a “parcel” and can cost up to 5 times as much. One day I will send a letter to the Minister for Trade as their policies are distinctly prejudicial to commerce. Out here they make massive profits but offer a very poor number of services and charge top dollar for what they do provide. Still, the mail mostly always gets there. But until ssuch times as their local monopoly remains, things won’t be much different. ----------------------------------------------- For those long term customers and anyone receiving these newsletters for the first time we have several walk in sales per year, with the next being Saturday August 25th.

  • Immediate Records
Immediate Records In mid-1965, Andrew Loog Oldham was best known as the Rolling Stones’ producer, but his ideas always extended beyond production. In July, he and Tony Calder came up with a brilliant idea to cut the bureaucracy out of the music business. That idea resulted in the creation of a new label, Immediate, which he announced to the world in the August 6th issues of the British trade magazines. New Musical Express had reported that the Rolling Stones might be leaving the London label in the United States. When Billboard reported that for American audiences in the August 21st issue, they added a bit of information about Immediate. Although Immediate did fairly well promoting domestic product and importing singles from small American labels, by the middle of 1966 they had still failed to make it into the American market. However, in June Allen Klein helped to negotiate an agreement with MGM where the American label would release at least two Immediate singles. This was not a satisfactory arrangement for either company and, prior to the release of the label’s first album in the USA, Immediate was in a distribution deal with CBS (Columbia Records). The CBS-distributed singles have the prefix ZS7-, where the 7 indicates a seven-inch record. Their LPs have the prefix of Z12 and, oddly, employ even numbers only. Where they existed, reel-to-reel tapes used the ZQ- prefix, four-track cartridges used the Z14- prefix, and eight-tracks used the Z18- prefix. Immediate Long-Playing Albums Small Faces There Are But Four Small Faces Label 68 Immediate Z12-52002 Pink label.
