Team HONMA Member Koumei Oda Becomes the Order of Merit Leader
December 2014 Team HONMA member Koumei Oda becomes the Order of Merit leader on the Japan Golf Tour for the first time! Three members of Team HONMA have proven themselves to be winners, thanks in part to the use of Tour World TW727 x Vizard. A first-time feat for HONMA! HONMA GOLF Co., Ltd., (head office: Roppongi Hills Mori Tower 35F, 6-10-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo; representative director & president: Koji Nishitani) signed a contract for the use of HONMA GOLF clubs and accessories with professional golfer Koumei Oda. At the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup, a major Japanese event that was held between December 4th and 7th at the Tokyo Yomiuri Country Club in Tokyo, Oda tied for third place with a 6-under final result. This allowed him to become the top money leader this season among male golfers on the Japan Golf Tour (with total prize earnings of 137,318,693 yen) for the first time in his professional career. For our company as well, this was the first time that a professional golfer under contract with HONMA GOLF secured this honor in our history. Having set out to become the top money leader before the start of the current season, he was fighting hard in pursuit of this goal as one of the leading earners on the tour. Oda used the TW727 series clubs, which are slated to be released in January 2015 (February for markets outside Japan), and notched a series of impressive results to validate the performing attributes of this equipment. He came blazing on the first day with a first-place score of 6-under and no bogeys. -
Where Good Players Become Tour Players IGT Challenge Pro Your
Where Good Players become Tour Players IGT Challenge Pro Your The Premier Developmental Tour in South Africa 2015 will mark our 6th year as the country’s Premier Developmental Tour. Our goal, simply put, is to provide the best tournament conditions to prepare you to compete on golf’s highest levels, as countless IGT Tour members have done before. For many decades, the PGA and European Tours have been fed by a vast network of mini-tours that provide start-up professionals and aspirant amateurs with a competitive platform across the two continents. In fact, the European’s Challenge Tour and Web.com Tour in America both started life as mini-tours and today, are the primary feeders for the world’s two most prominent playing circuits. For as many years, South African players have really had only two options: while the cream from the amateur ranks received golf scholarships to American colleges and universities and graduated to mini- tours, the rest had to make the leap to the pro ranks without a bridge or safety net. But, as the Sunshine Tour has grown in stature and size over the last decade, too many talented amateurs started falling through the cracks due to their inability to cope with the “big picture” – the pressure of qualifiers, travel, expenses and the standard of competition. The numbers dictated the necessity for a second tier feeder Tour and the scene started changing with the launch of the IGT Challenge Pro Tour in August 2010. Billed as the Tour Where Good Players become Tour Players, the IGT Tour initially provided a competitive base for amateurs only to test and hone their skills and fit neatly in the gap between the amateur ranks and paid circuit. -

Tuksgolf Academy Helps Lombard and Stone to Excel
TuksGolf Academy helps Lombard and Stone to excel The coaches at the TuksGolf Academy are certainly doing something right. The results of the South African Open and Joburg Open are testimony to it. Last week Brandon Stone won the SA Open at Glendower Golf Club while on Sunday (17/01) Zander Lombard finished second at the Joburg Open played at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Club. It is interesting to note that Stone is only 22 and that Lombard turned 21 on Monday (18/01). Hopefully this is just the beginning of great things to come. Llewellyn van Leeuwen (head coach at the TuksGolf Academy) boldly predicts Stone has what it takes to become one the best golfers in the world. He should know because he has been coaching Stone from when he was six years old. He also got high regards for Lombard’s golfing abilities. Van Leeuwen ascribes Stone and Lombard’s success to the fact that the various members of the Academy’s coaching staff complement each other in the way things are being done. “There are never any individual decisions. Whenever we work with one specific player we all first get together as a team and work out what is going to be best way forward. So everybody knows exactly what to do so as to help the player to succeed.” Lombard who only turned pro last year has been impressive during the last six weeks managing two top five finishes at European Tour- events. In December he was fourth overall in the Australian Open PGA Tournament at the Gold Coast. -
