Esa es la palabra clave que define a Microsoft este año, según trascendió en su evento anual de presentación de nuevos productos, celebrado hace dos semana. Mientras todos esperaban alguna luz acerca de Windows 10, solo llegó un relámpago llamado Windows 10X —que no deja de ser un concepto interesante—, pues Microsoft se encontraba enfrascado en nuevos proyectos de los que nadie sabía. Sus nombres: Surface Neo y Surface Duo. Sobre estos equipos de hardware y otras novedades les contamos a continuación. Surface Duo Image not found or type unknown Microsoft espera triunfar en el apartado móvil con el Surface Duo, un teléfono con dos pantallas. ¿Finalmente lo logrará? Un teléfono plegable con dos pantallas y Android como sistema operativo. Así se puede definir el regreso de Microsoft al mercado de los smartphones, luego de la presentación del Surface Duo. El equipo no sigue el concepto de pantalla plegable que hemos visto en otros dispositivos como el Samsung Galaxy Fold, sino que consiste en dos pantallas separadas, de 5,6 pulgadas cada una, y un sistema de bisagras que permite rotarlas en 360 grados. Completamente desplegados, ambos paneles ofrecen una pantalla de ocho pulgadas de diagonal. Para este nuevo equipo, Microsoft se asoció con Google, por lo que llegará con las aplicaciones de este último instaladas de serie. Panos Panay, director de producto del grupo de Dispositivos Microsoft, explicó que la novedosa disposición de las pantallas permite utilizarlas por separado, unidas, y de distintas formas. Por ejemplo, una de las pantallas se puede convertir en teclado mientras la otra ofrece su función tradicional. Si se usan las dos a la vez el equipo es una tableta. A nivel de hardware todavía se conocen pocos datos, pero la revista Wired informó que el teléfono integra el procesador Snapdragon 855, el más potente de Qualcomm hasta la fecha. Vendría, además, con una versión de Android 9 Pie, retocada para soportar las dos pantallas del dispositivo. Sin embargo, mucho puede cambiar hasta su salida, prevista para dentro de un año. Surface Neo No es una pantalla plegable, sino una tableta con dos pantallas que se pliega, la cual incorpora un lápiz óptico que puede ser empleado con la pantalla táctil y se acopla de forma magnética en la parte posterior. Asimismo, el Surface Neo contará por separado con un teclado que puede ser «escondido» en la parte posterior de una de las pantallas para luego deslizarlo y que cubra esa pantalla, lo que brinda al equipo el aspecto de una laptop. Microsoft no reveló muchos detalles del hardware, pero sí adelantó que tendrá un procesador Intel y una tarjeta gráfica integrada. Como punto especial de la presentación trascendió que el Surface Neo será el primer equipo en incorporar Windows 10X, la nueva versión de Windows 10 diseñada especialmente para este singular producto tecnológico. Windows 10X Windows 10X —se lee diez equis, no diez diez— es una adaptación del sistema operativo de Microsoft, diseñada especialmente para la nueva Surface Neo. Tal y como su «padre», Windows 10X cuenta con menú de inicio, barra de búsqueda y otras funcionalidades para aprovechar la nueva tecnología plegable. En la presentación, Panos Panay indicó que será posible arrastrar aplicaciones de una pantalla a otra, utilizar ambas pantallas como escritorios independientes o emplear periféricos como el mencionado teclado de la Surface Neo. ¿Qué lo diferencia de Windows 10? En esencia es la misma interfaz de usuario y el mismo escritorio y experiencia, pero no es una actualización del sistema operativo que se pueda instalar en los equipos de sobremesa. A nivel técnico, no corre de forma nativa aplicaciones Win32 —los programas de Windows se ejecutan de esta forma cuando la instalación es de 32 bits—, pero tendrá contenedores especiales para llevar a cabo el proceso. Otros productos Microsoft presentó además la nueva, la Surface Pro 7, última entrega de una especie de ordenador portátil y tableta que se destaca por su ligereza. Aunque por fuera se parece a sus predecesoras, Microsoft incluirá en la Surface Pro 7 procesadores de décima generación en versiones Core i3, i5 e i7, y RAM de tipo LPDDR4x para mejorar su rendimiento. El equipo tiene una autonomía de hasta diez horas y es posible cargarlo a un 80 por ciento en una hora, según la empresa radicada en Redmond, Estados Unidos. En el apartado de conectividad, llega con wifi 6 y USB-C, un puerto que permitirá conectarle un amplio abanico de accesorios y periféricos, así como cargar otros dispositivos. Otro producto interesante revelado por Microsoft son los Surface Earbuds, unos audífonos con un singular diseño que cuentan con control táctil y una llamativa característica: la traducción de idiomas en tiempo real a medida que hablamos. A diferencia de otros productos similares, los Earbuds de Microsoft son más abultados, pero se crearon de esta forma para facilitar el control táctil de los usuarios. La familia de los Surface fue completada por Microsoft este año con la Laptop 3, un ordenador portátil con altas prestaciones y un tamaño reducido, y la Pro X, una tableta que se asemeja en diseño al iPad Pro y contará con hasta 16 GB de memoria RAM LPDDR4x y un almacenamiento SSD que puede alcanzar los 512 GB. Lo presentado por Microsoft indica que la empresa ha estado enfocada en desarrollar productos acordes con las tendencias actuales, que miran a la movilidad y la conectividad como características esenciales del mundo moderno. Based on the research performed for this project, our team’s overall conclusion is that, of the six major categories of cancer vaccines, the tumor infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) type vaccines have shown the highest efficacies, with some CAR vaccines producing as high as 90% full cancer remissions in medium-sized (30 patient) studies. We identified several directions for moving the field forward, including using combination vaccines (especially with antibodies for immune checkpoint inhibitors), adjuvants, recall antigens (if the vaccine is delivered into the skin), and identifying and using a patient’s own specific tumor neoantigens.

Abstract This dissertation examines contemporary daily sports journalism through the lenses of media sociology and new institutional theory. In-depth interviews with 25 sports journalists (reporters and editors) identified the institutionalized norms, values, practices and routines of American sports journalism, demonstrated how that institutionalization affects story selection, and showed how the profession is changing due to digital and social media. The interviews show that although traditional sports journalism is highly institutionalized, digital sports journalism is far less so. Traditional sports journalism is still centered around a story, and digital sports journalism follows Robinson’s (2011) journalism-as-process model. The journalists interviewed are expected to perform acts of both traditional and digital journalism during the same work day, which leads to tension in how they do their jobs. Shakkotai ,{ K.Tso ∗ Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, 91109 As part of the Space Exploration Analysis and Simulation (SEAS) task, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is using physics-based simulations at NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) to explore potential surface and near-surface mission op- erations at Near Earth Objects (NEOs). The simulator is under development at JPL and can be used to provide detailed analysis of various surface and near-surface NEO robotic and human exploration concepts. In this paper we describe the SEAS simulator and pro- vide examples of recent mission systems and operations concepts investigated using the simulation. We also present related analysis work and tools developed for both the SEAS task as well as general modeling, analysis and simulation capabilites for asteroid/small-body objects. The SEAS simulator incorporates high-fidelity models of the NEO environment includ- ing its irregular geometry, the gravity field, and the effect of perturbing forces such as other body gravity fields and solar pressure. A local regolith model consisting of many individual irregular particles interacting through friction and cohesive forces can be used to model the details of contact events at or below the NEO surface. The NEO orbit is propagated from planetary ephemerides data and the option is available to model its rotation using either a kinematic or dynamics model.

These proposed standards are equivalent to the airplane CO2 standards adopted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 2017 and would apply to both new type design airplanes and in-production airplanes.
