Renata Lamanda Renata Lamanda She won very young the International Competition for opera singers “Città di Roma” and she debuted in Carmen’s role at Teatro Brancaccio in Rome under the conduction of Maestro Sergio La Stella. She also debuted at Teatro Moderno in Grosseto performing Verdi’s “Requiem”. She sang in the major opera houses in Italy: at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome performing “Rigoletto” conducted by N. Santi, D. Oren, P. Carignani; “Traviata” directed by Alberto Fassini conducted by J. Fiore and E. Pidò. She performed “Simon Boccanegra” with Renato Bruson conducted by Maestro Bartoletti and for the summer season of the Teatro dell’Opera at the Baths of Caracalla she performed “Aida” conducted by A. Licata, D. Oren and A. Pirolli. At La Scala in Milan she sang again under Maestro Bartoletti’s baton in Sergei Prokofiev’s “The Fiery Angel”. At the Teatro San Carlo in Naples she sang in “Makropulos Affair” by Janacek with Raina Kabaivanska (conductor J. Kovacev), in “Suor Angelica” and in “Madama Butterfly” conducted by M. Rota. In November 1998 she took part in the concert for the Vatican which OPERA SINGING was broadcasted worldwide conducted by P. Olmi. In April 2003 she sang “La Mort de Cléopâtre” by Berlioz at the Santa Cecilia Auditorium. In December of the same year she was Charlotte in “Werther” in Fidenza. In April 2005 she was MASTERCLASS Giulietta in Baltimore in “The tales of Hoffman”. In August 2005 she sang at the Baths of Caracalla and in Torre del Lago in “Madama Butterfly”. In October 2005 she debuted in Verdi’s Lady Macbeth in Fidenza. In February 2006 she debuted Rome - Via Casilina 1101 as Vitellia in Mozart’s “La clemenza di Tito” again at Teatro Magnani in Fidenza. In 2006 she sang at Teatro dell’Opera in Rome in “Madama Butterfly” and she ph.+39062389732 | mob.+393801297500 was in tour in Japan with “Rigoletto” in the role of Maddalena. Again she was Maddalena in “Rigoletto” at the Teatro Massimo in Ariadimusica Palermo. In 2010 she was Suzuki (“Madama Butterfly”) in Torre del Lago Ariadimusica&Cartoons (conductor E. Queler) and Maddalena (“Rigoletto”) at the Rome’s Baths of Caracalla. In Dicember of the same year she took part in a series of concerts in Cyprus with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. In February 2011 she was Azucena in “Il Trovatore” at the Teatro Politeama in Lecce. She was Suzuki in “Madama Butterfly” at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari in July 2011; Amneris in “Aida” for the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome at the Bath of Caracalla in August 2011 and in Taormina, in September 2011 she sang with Maria Guleghina and Aquiles Machado in “Norma”. On July 2012 she was Azucena in “Il Trovatore” at Teatro Giuseppe Di Stefano in Trapani. In January 2013 she performed Bersi in “Andrea Chenier” at the Avery Fischer Hall in New York with Roberto Alagna,;in July and August she sang Frugola in Giacomo Puccini’s “Il Tabarro” and Lola in Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” for the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. In September 2013 she performed Azucena in “Il Trovatore” at Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with Maria Agresta and Nicola Alaimo;, in October she performed Azucena in “Il Trovatore” and Verdi’s Requiem at Baluarte in Pamplona. In December 2013 she performed Verdi’s and Puccini’s arias at the Ductac Theatre in Dubai. In 2014 she sang in “Tabarro”(Frugola) with Aprile Millo at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and Suzuki in “Madama Butterfly” with Daniela Dessì and Fabio Armiliato. In July she performed the same role for the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. On February 2015 she sang “Aida” and “Trovatore” in Kazan (Russia) and in August she performed the “Stabat Mater” for the Tuscia Opera Festival in Viterbo. She then performed again in Dubai, special guest of the Dubai Concert Committee, at the Gala Opera in November 2015 conducted by M. Boemi. She’s vocal coach at the Accademia Puccini in Torre del Lago, at the mezzo-soprano Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome (masterclass sections) and at the Accademia del Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti” Fondazione Paolo Grassi in Martina Franca. On March 2017, she performed in New York, at the Lincoln Center, with the New York City Opera, in Respighi’s “La campana sommersa”. In November 2017 she will perform in Budapest the Budapest Opera Recital for Ariadimusica. I pensieri belli sono come gli uccelli migratori… Si muovono tutti insieme, così non si perdono”. Questa è solo una delle immagini poetiche ed emozionanti evocate da Alex, il protagonista dello spettacolo “Fa’afafine – Mi chiamo Alex e sono un dinosauro. La pièce che non mancano di sorprendere e commuovere, sono incentrati sul dibattutissimo e spesso frainteso tema del “gender”. Alex, interpretato dal bravo attore Michele Degirolamo, è un bambino curioso, brillante e pieno di inventiva che condivide il suo mondo fantastico coi pupazzi suoi amici, ma non ha ancora deciso se e quando essere maschio o femmina. Il bambino molto speciale infatti sogna di trasferirsi a Samoa per poter vivere da Fa’afafine. La parola composta (fa’a-= alla maniera di; “fafine” =donna) definisce un vero e proprio terzo sesso, coloro che, sin da bambini, non amano identificarsi e a cui la società samoana non impone una scelta. I fa’afafine godono di massimo rispetto. Sono maschi alla nascita, ed esplicitamente incarnano entrambi i caratteri, variando nel comportamento dal femminile stravagante al prosaicamente maschile. La scelta dell’abbigliamento è uno dei momenti più difficili per Alex: maschera del supereroe o scarpe da donna? Vestito da principessa o felpa con cappuccio?     TURANDOT Cast Biographies Soprano Martina Serafin (Turandot) made her San Francisco Opera debut as the Marshallin in Der Rosenkavalier in 2007. Born in Vienna, she studied at the Vienna Conservatory and between 1995 and 2000 she was a member of the ensemble at Graz Opera. Guest appearances soon led her to the world´s premier opera stages, including at the Vienna State Opera where she has been a regular performer since 2005. Director Uwe Erik Laufenberg staged the work, which premiered in Dresden in 1911, as a modern homage to the composer, a greatly beloved figure at the Semperoper. The celebrated Strauss interpreter Anne Schwanewilms appears as the Feldmarschallin under the baton of Fabio Luisi. From Maundy Thursday (April 9, 2020) to Easter Monday (April 13, 2020), this video recording from Tokyo’s NHK Hall in 2007 is available for streaming through our website semperoper.de under »Semperoper at home«. This weekend’s opera stream has been made possible by the generous granting of broadcasting rights by MDR and EuroArts. The DVD version of the performance is available for purchase. This Season she has sung Semiramide for the Company. Antonio Pappano is Music Director of The Royal Opera, a position he has held since 2002. During his tenure he has conducted an extensive repertory, including works by Mozart, Verdi, Wagner, Puccini, Richard Strauss, Ravel, Berg, Shostakovich and Britten, as well as the world premieres of Birtwistle’s The Minotaur (2008) and Turnage’s Anna Nicole (2011), and works for The Royal Ballet.
