Il Genoa si posiziona quarto e dovrà affrontare i preliminari di Champions League 2010/2011 mentre Udinese, Atalanta e Sampdoria si qualificano per l’Europa League 2010/2011. Albinoleffe, Como e Modena vengono retrocesse in Serie B. Anche avendo segnato rispettivamente 27 e 25 gol assicurando la miglior differenza reti del campionato all’Inter Milito ed Eto’o non riescono a superare il talento Pato, capocannoniere con 31 gol. Grande stagione per il neo bergamasco Acquafresca che con la maglia dell’Atalanta segna ben 23 reti. Ronaldinho, tornato quello di una volta, con un gioco ricco di prodezze, realizza 14 reti. Coppa Altoitaliana ricca di emozioni, il Mantova, dopo aver eliminato avversari del calibro di Torino e Parma affronta la Juventus ai quarti di finale venendo eliminata dopo una grande prestazione; la Sampdoria elimina il Milan secondo in campionato ma anche questa è poi sconfitta dalla Juventus in semifinale. Nell’altro girone il Sassuolo sconfigge il Modena e poi è eliminato dall’Inter ma solo per la regola dei gol in trasferta, poi i nerazzurri sono sconfitti in semifinale dall’Udinese, che conquista la finale dopo aver battuto anche Genoa, Atalanta e Cagliari. La Coppa vede una finale tutta “bianconera” infatti si affrontano Juventus e Udinese, però quest’ultima, dopo aver eliminato validi avversari quali Inter e Genoa, viene sconfitta dalla squadra torinese con un sonoro 4-1. La sessione invernale del calciomercato non regala grandi emozioni, tranne l’arrivo al Milan di Drenthe, giovane difensore olandese del Real Madrid, e la partenza di Crespo verso il Benfica non ci sono novità rilevanti sul piano del mercato. Il calciomercato estivo invece porta grandi cambiamenti: dalla Lazio arriva il giovane De Silvestri in direzione Fiorentina, il Genoa acquista l’ex-laziale Goran Pandev, il Parma, che continua il progetto del presidente di ringiovanire la squadra, acquista De Ceglie dalla Juventus. Fanno affari Milan e Mantova: quest’ultimo acquista dai rossoneri l’attaccante Borriello per 11 milioni di euro, che, sommati ad altri 14 servono ai rossoneri per comprare il giovane talento del Wolfsburg: Edin Dzeko. Atalanta Coppa Alto italiana Albinoleffe Chievo Parma Cagliari Mantova Udinese Torino Genoa Juventus Piacenza Como Padova Sampdoria Sassuolo Triestina Modena Brescia Inter Milan Toscana, Stagione 2009/2010 Come tutti si aspettavano la Fiorentina domina la Lega A fin dalle prime giornate, sconfiggendo tutti gli avversari sulla sua strada tranne il Livorno, che la ferma con un doppio 1-1. Dopo il mercato invernale la squadra granata, preannunciata rivale dei viola, prende finalmente il sopravvento grazie alle prodezze di Tavano, Lucarelli e del trequartista Jonathan De Guzman, acquistato a gennaio dal Feyenoord per rimpiazzare l’ex granata Diamanti, andato al West Ham all’inizio del campionato. Dopo le sconfitte per 3-0 e 4-1 col Livorno e i pareggi con Siena, Arezzo e Perugia la Fiorentina si arrende ai granata e combatte per il secondo posto; terminando il campionato a otto punti dal Livorno che, per la prima volta in quasi 15 anni, frena lo strapotere della Fiorentina. Il Siena si tiene stretto il terzo posto mentre Empoli e Perugia lottano duramente per l’accesso al quarto posto e quindi ai preliminari di Europa League, alla fine, dopo lo scontro diretto ad Empoli nella penultima giornata di campionato la spuntano i padroni di casa. Le due retrocessioni spettano a Ternana ed Arezzo. Seppur subentrati a metà campionato il sardo del Grosseto Stefano Guberti e l’olandese del Livorno Jonathan de Guzman riescono ad ottenere buone postazioni in classifica marcatori, terzo e quarto con 21 e 19 gol. La rivelazione della stagione si mostra soprattutto in Coppa Toscana, qui, il Grosseto riesce ad eliminare il Siena al primo turno e i campioni di toscana del Livorno in semifinale, approdando alla finale contro la Fiorentina. Finale difficilissima per la rivelazione Grosseto che dopo i due gol del viola Gilardino riescono a riaprire la partita con un gol di Guberti al 72’, poi il gol al 84’ di Diamanti sembra salvare la partita ma con un intervento del guardalinee il gol viene annullato per una presunta posizione di fuorigioco, così il Grosseto, dopo una fantastica stagione, non riesce a frenare la Fiorentina, che conquista il titolo. Il calciomercato invernale porta in Toscana due talenti ma ne manda via uno ancora più importante: infatti dopo l’arrivo di De Guzman al Livorno e Guberti al Grosseto a Firenze arriva la notizia della partenza di Mutu per il Manchester United per 25 milioni di euro. In estate l’infortunio di Marco Vergassola, capitano e bandiera del Siena, porta la società ad acquistare un nuovo centrocampista, ad agosto arriva in Toscana per 8,5 milioni di euro Toni Kroos, giovane promessa del Bayer Leverkusen. In basso: striscione dei tifosi livornesi che recita “Fieri di te grazie di tutto” per festeggiare la vittoria del campionato toscano. Due Sicilie, Stagione 2009/2010 Tutti contro Napoli! Questo è il motto che guida da anni le sette squadre della Lega 1 ormai da troppi anni, è dal ’74 che nessuno toglie lo scudetto alla squadra azzurra, ma quest’anno si prospettano grandi novità. Alla prima partita in campionato il Palermo sconfigge i napoletani per 2-1 e il morale delle altre sei squadre del campionato, sia che siano vincitrici o vinte, si alza a dismisura. Nelle successive tre giornate il Napoli pareggia con il Gallipoli e perde con il Catania e la serie di cattivi risultati non finisce qui. Il motivo degli insuccessi del Napoli viene spiegato dal presidente De Laurentiis nell’incompetenza dell’allenatore, così a Gennaio Roberto Donadoni viene licenziato dal suo ruolo, al suo posto subentra Antonio Conte. Anche con il cambio d’allenatore la situazione non migliora e il Napoli si ritrova, ad aprile, a combattere per la salvezza. Intanto, alle vette della classifica, Palermo e Catania combattono una sfida tutta siciliana per lo scudetto, sembra quasi un testa a testa tra i due giovani talenti delle due siciliane: Pastore per il Palermo e Mascara per il Catania, che continuano a sfornare gol uno dopo l’altro quasi a combattere anche per il posto di capocannoniere. Ma tra i due litiganti il terzo gode, infatti il Lecce, fresco dell’acquisto di Quagliarella dal Napoli ormai in crisi, riesce ad agguantare facilmente il terzo posto, mentre per il quarto si combatte ancora, questa volta tra Bari e Gallipoli, le due neo-promosse e rivelazioni della stagione. Grazie ad un fantastico sprint finale il Palermo vince il campionato alla penultima giornata, dopo aver battuto i rivali del Catania e averli staccati di sette punti; il Lecce , il Bari e il Gallipoli si aggiudicano la qualificazione all’Europa League.
