Wij zijn allemaal betrokken bij de plaatselijke voetbalvereniging met als doel de vereniging verder te helpen. Zo heeft een ieder ook zijn eigen kwaliteiten en vullen de medewerkers elkaar goed aan. Zo’n tien jaar geleden is het organiseren van voetbalreizen naar buitenlandse voetbalclubs begonnen in de eigen vriendenkringen. Toen er meer vraag naar het product kwam is het idee om een voetbalreisbureau op te richten eigenlijk ontstaan. In de tussentijd zijn er dus ook een tal van clubs bezocht. Waar elke voetballiefhebber kan genieten van de sfeer bij Real Madrid, Liverpool en Borussia Dortmund proberen wij ook zoveel mogelijk “kleinere” en relatief onbekende clubs te bezoeken. Wanneer de tijd het toelaat willen wij zoveel mogelijk clubs bezoeken om de klant ook zo goed mogelijk te kunnen informeren over het product, zodoende is ook deze voetbalreisgids van Arsenal ontstaan. VoetbalreizenXL probeert zich te onderscheiden door een unieke voetbalervaring aan te bieden, geheel samengesteld aan de hand van de wensen en behoeften van de klant. Zo raden wij de klanten altijd aan om meerdere wedstrijden in hetzelfde weekend te bezoeken waardoor zij het maximale uit het weekend zullen halen. Een wedstrijd in de Premier League is natuurlijk fantastisch te combineren met een wedstrijd in de Championship. Niks is mooier dan de sfeer op ‘Griffin Park’ van FC Brentford of op ‘Graven Cottage’ van Fulham FC. Wanneer u deze na afloop van de voetbalreis deelt op onze Facebook-pagina maakt u kans op de prijzen die in de ‘veel plezier’ mail vermeld staan. 2 De Club Geschiedenis Everton FC Everton is een Engelse voetbalclub die in 1878 werd opgericht door leden van de St. Domingo School uit Liverpool wie de club dezelfde naam gaven. Men ging spelen op een veldje in Stanley Park. In 1879 werd de naam veranderd in de huidige naam: Everton Football Club. Van alle Engelse voetbalclubs heeft Everton FC het vaakst in de premier league gespeeld. Datzelfde jaar speelde de jonge club haar eerste wedstrijd die met 6-0 werd gewonnen. In 1883 verhuisde de club naar een veldje aan Priory Road, maar niet lang daarna verhuisde de club naar Anfield Road. Daar begonnen de successen voor Everton. In 1888 was het één van de 'Founding Members' van de Football League en in 1891 werden ze voor de eerste keer kampioen. Een jaar later vertrok de club echter van Anfield Road na een ruzie met de eigenaar van het veld (die dat jaar een nieuwe club oprichtte: Liverpool). Everton vertrok naar de plek waar zij nog steeds zitten, Goodison Park. Tussen 1925 en 1938 speelde Dixie Dean bij Everton. Hij is ontegenzeggelijk de grootste speler die ooit het blauwe shirt van Everton heeft gedragen. In 431 wedstrijden voor de club scoorde hij 377 doelpunten. In maart 1980 stierf Dixie Dean op de tribune van Goodison Park tijdens de Merseyside-derby tussen Liverpool FC en Everton. Hoewel de jaren van Dean groots waren, moesten de beste tijden nog komen. Midden jaren tachtig was Everton één van de grootmachten van het Engelse voetbal. Onder leiding van trainer-coach Howard Kendall werd twee keer het kampioenschap behaald (1985 en 1987) en de FA Cup gewonnen (1984). Maar de grootste prijs werd in de Rotterdamse Kuip veiliggesteld toen Everton met 3-1 Rapid Wien versloeg in de finale van de Europa Cup 2. De jaren tachtig waren de tijden van onder anderen Gary Lineker, Neville Southall, Peter Reid, Graeme Sharp en Trevor Steven. In 1995 won Everton voor de vijfde keer de FA Cup. De ploeg van trainer-coach Joe Royle versloeg in de finale Manchester United met 1-0. Paul Rideout scoorde. De zege was opmerkelijk, want Everton vocht driekwart van het seizoen tegen degradatie. Trainer Mike Walker moest wegens de slechte prestaties in november vertrekken. Met diens vervanger Royle won Everton aan het begin van het seizoen 1995/96 ook de Engelse Super Cup dankzij een 1-0 overwinning op landskampioen Blackburn Rovers. Het enige doelpunt kwam op naam van Vinny Samways. In de jaren die daarop volgden is Everton FC één van de vaste middenmoters van de Premier League. Wanneer de club in goeden doen is, is het een angst voor de topclubs om op Goodison Park te spelen. 3 Nederlanders bij Everton FC Bij Everton hebben verschillende Nederlanders met wisselend succes gespeeld. De eerste was Raymond Atteveld. Hij werd in 1989 overgenomen van HFC Haarlem en kwam in 3 seizoenen tot 51 wedstrijden voor de Toffees. Hierna duurde het een poos voordat Everton weer een Nederlander zou aantrekken. De eerstvolgende was Andy van der Meyde, de een seizoen later werd vergezeld door Sander Westerveld. Westerveld was als tweede keeper gehaald en kwam weinig aan spelen toe. Van der Meyde speelde eveneens weinig en kwam vaak negatief in het nieuws met berichten over disciplinaire geldstraffen en schorsingen, een ziekenhuisopname na een avondje stappen, (terecht gebleken) beschuldigingen van alcoholisme en een inbraak in zijn woning. In 4 seizoenen kwam hij tot slechts 24 wedstrijden voor Everton. Westerveld vertrok na één seizoen en voor Van der Meyde was Everton zijn laatste profclub. In 2009 werd John Heitinga overgenomen van Atletico Madrid en in 2011 werd ook Royston Drenthe gehuurd van Real Madrid. Beiden begonnen goed bij Everton, Heitinga had in zijn eerste 4 seizoenen een basisplaats en werd aan het einde van seizoen 2011-2012 door de supporters verkozen tot speler van het jaar. Hierna kon hij echter niet meer rekenen op een basisplaats en na een seizoen op de bank te hebben gezeten werd hij overgenomen door Fulham FC. Drenthe was slechts één seizoen actief bij Everton, waar hij regelmatig basisspeler was. Toen zijn contract afliep, toonden veel clubs interesse, waaronder Liverpool. Aan het einde van de competitie werd hij door Everton disciplinair geschorst. Als reden werd aangegeven dat Drenthe zonder toestemming had gesproken met Liverpool. De transfer ketste evenwel af. Zoals u weet heeft Ronald Koeman sinds het seizoen 2016/2017 de leiding over Everton en heeft hij de eerste Nederlander aangetrokken in de vorm van Davy Klaassen. 4 Stadioninfo Goodison Park is het stadion van de Engelse voetbalclub Everton FC. Het staat dichtbij Anfield, het stadion van Liverpool FC, namelijk aan Goodison Road. Het stadion werd gebouwd in 1892. De eerste wedstrijd die er gespeeld werd was Everton-Bolton. Deze wedstrijd eindigde in 4-2. Het stadion heeft 40.569 zitplaatsen. Naast de thuiswedstrijden van Everton is er eenmaal een finale van de FA cup gespeeld (in 1894) en zijn er een aantal interlands in het stadion gespeeld. tijdens het WK 1966 was het een van de speelstadions en werd onder andere een van de halve finales in het stadion afgewerkt. 5 Zitplaatsen Er zijn diverse mogelijkheden hoe u de wedstrijdtickets kunt ontvangen.     From being a small boy, I have always been a huge fan of both football and professional wrestling and at around the age of 10-years-old, I came across a monthly magazine brought to newsagents from the makers of the world famous Sports Illustrated all about pro wrestling. It was simply named Pro Wrestling Illustrated. It was a publication I regularly read as well as Shoot and Match weekly magazines to feed my football addiction. In 1991, PWI began this new craze that instantly grabbed my attention more than no other magazine had before. They revealed the 'PWI 500'. The 'PWI 500' section in the magazine listed (in rank order) the top 500 professional wrestlers in the world that year. Counting down from 500, this revealed to me many, many talents that I have not discovered as of yet. This was released every year, and still to this day is the best selling edition of the magazine each year. I studied and read and read over and over again that edition in 1991 and I came up with an idea. What if Match or Shoot revealed the top 500 footballers in the world? Thinking back to 1991, I used to love to tune into the 'BBC Radio 1 Top 40' show every Sunday afternoon too... maybe I'm a tad obsessed with countdowns. Anyways, reflecting on the idea, I thought about it each year the 'PWI 500' was released. As years went on, I felt that this would have grown into a hugely successful plan, gaining great recognition with people in the game, possibly gained its own award ceremony on TV with the emergence and exposure SKY Television in the United Kingdom was just beginning to give to the game back then.

    History Friday, 01 January 2010 00:00 1895-1970 – Non league In 1895, the Catholic University Medical School Cecilia Street Football Club was founded, entering a team in the inaugural Leinster Junior League. The team's first match was against Bohemians B in October of 1895 and ended in a 2-0 defeat. November 1895 also saw the first match against Trinity with a result of 2-0 to Cathlolic University. 1898 Catholic University qualified for the Leinster Senior Cup for the first time - and we reached the semi-final. In 1908, the Catholic University merged with University College Dublin, and the team changed name with the merger. Things weren't quite settled yet, though, as we went through a series of grounds - in Sandymount, Cowper Road, Croydon Park, Fairview and Terenure before moving to Belfield Park in 1935 and now the UCD Bowl in 2008. In the meantime, though, success had been regular. In 1914, we won the inaugural Collingwood Cup - the Irish collegiate championships. The next year, UCD won the IFA Intermediate Cup, beating Portadown 2-1 in a replay in Dalymount Park. The first match had seen UCD draw in Windsor Park on St Patrick's Day. The competition was the 'IFA' Cup because in those days before independence, the IFA governed football over the whole island, and the competition involved teams from the whole island. The Intermediate Cup was one step below the Senior Cup in importance, so it was certainly of some significance. UCD were also involved in the first ever FAI Senior Cup in 1921, when they took on a non-league side at the time, Shamrock Rovers, in Windy Arbour, losing 6-2.
