Values Driven Living: The Path to Happiness BY: MELISSA KILLELEAGH, COMMUNITY LIASON, FINGER LAKES WOMAN For most of my life, I feel like everyone and everything around me has been on this never- ending quest for true happiness. Not the kind of happiness induced by something outside of ourselves – like our possessions or relationships – but real, deep, true fulfillment. Like nirvana, or enlightenment, it surely seemed like the holy grail of my lifetime. Would you believe me if I told you that I found it?! The FLTA was founded in 1919 and is one of the oldest destinations marketing organizations in the country. It is an association of private sector attractions, tourism- related businesses and county tourism offices working together to enhance and promote visitor businesses for the 9,000-square-mile Finger Lakes region.

Ingredients: 2 packs of Lady Fingers 1 lb of Mascarpone cheese 5 TBSP of sugar 5 egg yolks 1 cup of strong black coffee One TBSP tbsp of coffee liqueur One TSP of vanilla Cocoa powder to sprinkle on top

Preparation: 1. In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar, until the sugar has dissolved and the yolks are pale in color and creamy looking. 2. Add the Mascarpone, constantly mixing until you obtain a smooth texture. 3. In a small saucepan, heat the coffee liqueur and carefully flambe. 4. Pour the coffee in the saucepan. Dip the Lady Fingers until they are soft, but not soggy. 5. In a deep serving dish, put a layer of the Lady Fingers, cover with half the mascarpone mixture. Repeat. 6. Sprinkle with the cocoa powder. 7. Refrigerate covered for 24 hours. Fresh Raspberry Pie

Ingredients: ¼ cup sugar 1 Tbsp cornstarch 1 cup water 1 pkg (3 0z) raspberry gelatin 4 cups fresh raspberries 1 graham cracker crust (9 in.)

Preparation: 1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch and water until smooth. 2. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. 3. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. 4. Remove from the heat; stir in gelatin until dissolved. 5. Cool for 15 minutes. 6. Place raspberries in the crust; slowly pour gelatin mixture over berries. 7. Chill until set, about 3 hours.
