The collection includes journals, flyers, newsletters, posters, and other ephemera, as well as correspondence of Al Appel. Some major topics represented are human rights, especially in South America, Russian Socialism, and Communism in China and Cuba. Particularly well represented are the Socialist Organizing Committee and the Organizing Committee for an Ideological Center.
